Near as I can tell, there were only two Wii Games published by Majesco at the release of this quarterly earnings report. They are: Cooking Mama .83 million (with European numbers this could be much higher) Bust a Move Bash .1 million Seems to me that Wii games are neither the cause of nor the cure of Majesco's financial issues. Although I'd be very surprised if Cooking Mama hadn't already made them a nice profit.

People laughed at me when I orginally posted this story, but Tantalus is the most successful and financially stable game developer in Australia.

http://www.smh.com.au/news/articles/local-hero/2008/05/20/1211182806932.html

And for the record, I'm not making any claims that all developers will be so successful. I'm just providing contrast to Majesco.

Nice except the company hasn't even released a Wii title yet (which is what this thread is about...).

Blast Works has just come out which is published by Majesco and it looks fantastic, So good in fact that my copy is in the post to me as we speak, I mean who doesnt want a side scrolling shooter which allows you to customize almost everything in the game.

This thread needs more failcats.

Hey if you can actually read, here's a list of 10 Wii games Majesco's made.

http://www.majescoentertainment.com/games/?filter=platform&id=1

Edit: Their own website lists 38 games for DS, 10 for Wii, 4 for PSP, and 1 for 360.  That's it for this generation so far.  Looks like a heavy focus on Nintendo systems has turned them around.

And that cat in the blinds is my new favorite failcat.

It's strange that with all the rebuttles presented to you in this topic, you cherrypicked the only one that you could reply with any kind of talking point. Care to comment on anything else, or you just gonna leave it at that?

What is there really to comment on?  A company making games like Psychonauts that starts making budgetware crap and is being held up as a success story by some people?  Had they instead had that one million seller on the 360 or PS3 they would be posting a profit right now (likely a very significant one).   They are far more careful on the projects they pick, who's to say that kind of thinking wouldn't have lead to the same success on those consoles?

wow this is totally a topicful of fail lol

the words above were backed by NUCLEAR WEAPONS!

So some of you are basically saying that you should make crappy games for wii/ds since they bring easy money? :)

No, relying only on "retarded" games will damage the bottom line of that company in the long term.

But a title like "Coocking Mama" was a pure genius ( I mean lucky ) stroke because was the right product for the right audiende in the right time.

Also I want to note you that Majesco has 2 very interesting title for Wii :

Blast Work ( inspired by an indie game ) and Major MINOR'S MAJESTIC MARCH from critically acclaimed Nanonsha.

In the end the message is that VG Industry can't only rely on big budget project for 15-25 year old male.

This thread should just be renamed : Signs of mental retardation: Internet style. Big PROFITS!! WEEEEEE!!!!!!

Well you should try reading and you'd know that I was responding to his link about another company that hasn't released a Wii game yet...  As for the Majesco link it just goes to show that after releasing 10 Wii games they still haven't posted a profit yet.
