Actually it means something in between. "Schedule" in the rigorous sense would be 計画 (keikaku). 予定 (yotei) definitely contains the nuance of "intention" imho. But I do not claim to be an expert of the Japanese language, either. However, 予定 definitely doesn't mean "scheduled date".
EDIT: I see, the Google translator says 予定 = scheduled. Well, as I said I think it's more like something in between. But go ahead and replace intention by schedule in my original post:
