Nah. Halo 3 is probably the most front loaded game ever released. Metal Gear games aren't.

Nah, that won't happen either. The highest selling Metal Gear game hasn't even outsold the lowest selling Halo.

 Yeah, but it's only 1 million off, 2 million behind Halo 3 now (Halo 2 is still higher).  MGS4 is bundled, though, and since we love to count bundles as game sales (Wii Sports and Wii Play), that could make up the difference.  Also, a lot of people are getting this game that didn't get the previous versions.

 In the same way n asteroid could hit the earth, MGS 4 could outsell Halo 3. The Best selling MGS game has not sold as much as Halo 3, and it is not slowing down. The MGS series has not shown a lot of growth from game to game, and Halo games are usually around 3 million higher. There game just isn't as popular as Halo. Not by a long shot.

Good point with the bundling. I'd still be surprised if it outsells the first Metal Gear Solid though. It would have to stay bundled for a long time.

Halo 3 first week>MGS4 lifetime sales. Yep.

i dont see any game in the near future(except FFXIII) which can outsell halo 3 week 1.in fact ill be really surprised if MGS4 reaches 2 mil WW first week.agreed MGS has been hyped,but its nothing like the halo hype,which made even non-fans want to buy the game. the MGS hype just makes the old fans know how awesome it is.

Anyway, MGS2 was a disappointment to a lot of people (not me), so MGS3 didn't sell as well.  It was only a prequel and on the same system and released when Halo 2 was, I believe.

However, as you can see, the difference is only 3 million between MGS and Halo 2.  I fully expect MGS4 to sell better than these previous versions with the bundle.  Halo 3 still has a ways to go to catch up to Halo 2.

 But hey, we'll see.  I don't particularly care either way.  Halo is probably the most overblown game as far as sales go.  CoD4 has blown it away.  Granted, that's multiplatform, but the way it is still selling it might pass Halo 3 on 360 alone.
