This is a new tactic by Wii owners.

First it was talking about not deserving the ten.
Then it was acting like it didn't exist.
Then this morning, someone made a thread about GTA doing well would only satite EA's hunger to buy Take-Two
And now, it's the "end of the old games".
But I've yet to see the game gets the praise it deserves.
I wonder what kind of negative GTAIV thread we will see tomorrow...

It's really sad that people spend this much time hating on a great game, instead of just playing it. Jeez. The game got a 10/10. It dethroned OoT. Let's get over it, move on, and give up these poor excuses for threads, trying to make GTA into something that it's not, that is, a great game.

Translation : as a Wii owner I dislike all the hype around this non Wii game..

 Amen there.  Anyone remember that thread about trying to get DMC4 on Wii and how it was graphically do-able.  Yeah...

So everything that doesn't praise the Wii has to be 'a stupid wii owner complaining?'

I'm trying to take an educated guess that the game(which I am currently waiting to be delivered) is going to have on the market and why this release is so important.

Maybe it's a bunch of hype, maybe it's aliens, maybe it's nothing. I'm just stating what I think might happen if this game does not have as massive an impact as we would believe.

People made the same predictions about Wii Sports, which btw, I personally think changed the sport genre completely. But hey, you guys want to label this 'anti-ps3/360' go ahead, I'm not losing any sleep over it lol.

This is largely baseless.

For example, the Xbox 360 is typically lauded as a console for hardcore gamers. Games on this console are typically selling significantly better than they did on the Xbox, despite currently having a lower install base. Halo 3 will end up significantly higher than Halo 2, CoD 4 and Assassin's Creed have been huge, Oblivion did fantastic early in the system's life, Mass Effect will sell well over 2m when all is said and done. The list goes on and on.

There has undoubtedly been a huge increase in the success of casual games, most of this is attributed to the success of the DS. On the Wii most of the truly successful games have been more traditional, with SMG, SMBB and Mario Kart leading the way. Even on the Wii, traditional games are not dying - although casual games are certainly playing a larger role in that consoles success.

 Ultimately this just seems like another attempt to discount GTA IV's success.
