Reviewers are hardcore ppl who don't understand the casual scene, we need new people to review games ppl that never heard of the game or concept and have them review the game for fun to see their reactions.

I disagree, millions of gamers listen to reviewers because they arent biased wii fanboys that think the wii is better than GOD.
No I am not trolling, its just that reviewers care about how fun the game is, and if the value is there to waste 50-60bucks on a game.
80-85 is still a great score for mario kart wii, just like 95-100 is not because it was over hyped but because GTA 4 is that good.
I started a thread about the review scores.

It is amazing to me that GTA IV is reviewed as being perfect.
High 90s is one thing -- but 100 is something else.
(And no reviewer has dumped on it like the person who gave MK Wii at 4.2/10).
And I agree that Wii Fit is not a traditional game -- so actually its score in the 80s is respectable.

and then, we should get people who never have concept of teaching to be teachers... people who never went to engineering school to build bridges. People who never run before to compete in the Olympics.
I see you are trying to get certain game a higher school, but what would those people base their score on? "Oooh, pretty colours"????
Don't like the score of the game you like? Don't read it. Reviews are there for a reason, because most gamers do, just look at what good review is doing for GTAIV.

Well, apparently somebody cares enough to create a VGChartz thread about it.
Gamespot's review of Azure Dreams (PS) was 7.4 and it was one of my favorite games ever. They also gave Freedom Fighters 9.2 and it stunk. Xenogears was highly-rated, but in that case, I just didn't like the game. 10/10 needs more explaining then I care to type here on my Wii but the should redefine a genre. Just like Tony Hawk, Soul Caliber, arguably FF7, and definitely like Ocarina of Time did. Honestly, I am concerned about OOT being "#2" because I SWEAR to God that game changed my life and childhood. That game is very important to me and pretty much holds a piece of my history with it. No disrespect, but I never got that feeling from many other games, and not from recent GTAs. But my opinion is mush until I play & beat GTA4 myself in a couple weeks. If it doesn't impact my life, it isn't 'perfect'. That's as real as I can get guys.

I call BS on this one.
Nice try. Spread your lies elsewhere. We don't need them here at the Chartz.
Are some people so obsessed with review scores that they'd make this awful thread about it?
Well...the forum is already cluttered with threads based solely around GTA IV scores. The amount of things to talk about are being severely cut down by the GTA IV flood.

I don't consider games with 80% average crappy but that's just my opinion. |
According to many on this site when Heavenly Sword was released its 80% was crappy. I really dont think Heavenly Sword is nearly as hyped as these two mediocre games. While I dont think review scores matter, its just kinda dealing the blow back to Nintendo fanboy hypocrites.
You all say this and that about how the PS3 sucks and gets low review scores. But hell, two of the biggest Wii games of the year just flopped in terms of quality. They might sell a lot, but just reaffirms that Nintendo owns its console entirely and third party developers might as well not even make an effort placing games on the platform, unless they plan to put Mario in it.
But quality doesn't matter on the Wii. Its a console MADE for shovelware. Nintendo can sell as many consoles as they want to (and they will be happy) but as far as fanboys go you can't be taken seriously. The Wii isn't anything but a quick way to make money for developers. Putting anything worthwhile on the console wont matter because
1. Anything you make on the console won't ever be appreciated for its artistic quality.
2. Regardless of how good or bad a game is on the console it just needs to meet two specic requirements to sell well. Why spend money/time and effort/ your main IP on the Wii when in the long run it won't even matter?
The Wii has gone from being extremely threatening to old style gaming to a device that is irrelevant to mainstream gaming everywhere but Japan. Its the cool thing to have, but no one really considers it to be next gen must own console. Its simply a Wii, a piece of hardware that hooks up to the TV that enables you to use the Wii-mote. What games do you get to use the Wii-mote on? Who the f*ck cares! Just give them any image on screen with a known character to shake the controller at and most people dont care.
(I can't believe how big this thread has gotten! Sweeeeet. Just wait until MGS4 releases when the Wii has absolutely nothing on the table. I wonder how defensive marioboys will get then when the PS3 starts outselling it WW for a couple of weeks )
