If true, i think its quite a corinsedents its announced not long after the CEO retires.

Also i am glad to see this anti consumer practice disappear. Well hoping so anyway.

Exactly, and with Sony now allowing some of their biggest PS4 games to be playable on PC with PSNow I imagine its only a matter of time before they will allow their games to be played native and such things as full-on exclusives will be gone. It is about time gaming came out of the dark ages of such anti-consumer practices.

THIS! I always hated that you could watch any TV show on any brand of TV, you could listen to music on any CD/MP3 player, you could watch a movie on any DVD/Blu Ray player, but with video games you had to have specific brands. It holds gaming back.

Sony's exclusives are only as good as they are, because they are made to sell consoles. Same goes for Nintendo. If you want to know how quality drops once a console maker stops making games exclusive just look at Microsoft. Gears 5 is MTX ridden. Forza is the Madden of racing games. The last Halo didn't even have Master Chief in it, and it also had MTX in multiplayer.

4K/30 on the Pro is tantamount to 1440/60 on a PC, so IMO all Sony really needs to do is give people the option of lowering the resolution to up the FPS. Hopefully that's a feature on PS5 where you can choose between 4K/60 and 8K/30. And if that kind of resolution/frames isn't possible on PS5, then they can release a Pro model in 2023 that can handle it.

Personally, I'd love for Sony to just produce a $100 "Playstation Player" disc tray that allowed you to play your PS games on PC. That way you could have physical games, and the ability to run them how you want, without any oppressive PC style DRM attached. It really would be the best of both worlds.

P.S. Your views on exclusives being anti-consumer are in the extreme minority. http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=239874&page=1

That poll doesnt tell us shit:
Vgc users arent the average consumer, they tend to be fanboys thus actually approving/not minding malicious actions

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

I think even on PS5 4k60fps would be unlikely. But sure offer the option to FullHD, 1440p and 4k as res, texture level and some other easy to distingish options and the system shall show you the FPS that the game will hold and you can accept or tweak a little more.

I would always look for the best IQ I can have on 4k30fps.

The average user buy MPs, don't care to most of the exclusives, so if you were doing it in the real world you see even less people caring about "platform freedom".

Microsoft's first party output this gen was stumbling way before they made the decision to put their games on PC, so no that's not the reason they dropped in quality. Hell, that idea doesn't even make sense. If developing a game for PC at the same time as console meant it dropped in quality then 99% of multiplatform games would not be good according to that logic since they all have PC versions as well.

Forza is the "Madden of racing games"? If you're trying to say this in the sense of how it releases almost every year then alright sure (though Microsoft is willing to at least give it time off like they did this year, no new forza game), but quality wise not even close. Forza is actually the only franchise Microsoft has consistently managed to get right this gen, with the last 2 Horizon games receiving 90+ on metacritic each. These games are on PC too so that only contradicts your previous point more.

I just have to say Gears 5 is possibly my favorite game so far this year and the MTX is only for cosmetic stuff in multiplayer. True, some just buy the series for multiplayer but I don't think it's any worse than anything from games like Uncharted.

Forza is widely considered the best racing franchise on the market.

The last Halo had you switching between Master Chief and another Spartan the same way Halo 2 had your switching between Chief and Arbiter.

Just saying...

What drives someone like you to make comments about games you clearly haven’t played and present them in such a factual way? You’re clueless about Gears 5, and Forza and Madden with that comparison, and MC very much was in Halo 5.

Just curious. I don’t care for a game like Death Stranding or most Japanese nonsense even though I own a PS4, so I don’t comment about them. Why put your foot in your mouth for no reason?

Still you bring Japanese titles to almost all discussion to mock them.
