Forums - Gaming Discussion - are 2 big titles in 1 Year by one developer.. good or bad for awards/sales?

Spiderman = more GOTY Awards, if God of War had not been released in the same year?

100 % YES! 4 40.00%

Yes, i think.. 2 20.00%

No, because.. 2 20.00%

Probably, but also who cares GOTY awards are dumb. Hundreds of random websites no one has ever heard saying what the best game of the year is. I hate this masturbation over some game getting 190 awards or 200 awards it's all so meaningless.

Around the Network

Awards don't sell many games so it's not really important for the success. The awards are given mostly after a game has sold already most units or will sell many more through word of mouth.

And I don't think two games in one year do much to the sales. We get a lot of games every year, why should game number 156 change much to the sales of another game as long as it's not almost the same game in the same genre?

Talking about Spider-Man, it got a Metascore of 87, not sure if there are many reviewers who really think it's the best of the year (not talking about awards for graphics and stuff)

Awards ceremonies are for people to feel good about themselves but doesn't represent industry as whole. Who the fuck watches stupid shit like Oscars or Tony awards or any other lame ass award show. Girls

Are you okay?

Actually it should only be 1 big game every 3 years to make sure that even the poorest people have enough time to save up enough money, thus maximizing sales.
