I don't think they said anything officially, it was just reported in june 2018 that Panasonic had supposedly withdrew from the project:

"Japanese business daily Nikkei today reports Nintendo's "quality of life" project might be dead. Nikkei says potential hardware partner Panasonic withdraw from that project in March."

And then in April 2019: "Nikkei reporting that Nintendo's QOL department is no more. Apparently a prototype of a sleep monitoring device was nearly complete, but the project was canceled due to the product not being very "Nintendo-esque"

So either these reports were false, or the QoL project is continuing and just a couple of projects related to it have been cancelled, and other projects continue.

In my opinion the N64 was not just the best console of the 5th gen but, to this day the best console ever created!

I was able to play multiplayer with my Wii and Wii U. I can't anymore with Switch. The quality of service has obviously degraded. They should have a hard long look at themselves and ask if they deserve the official Nintendo Seal of Quality.

The Switch has several multiplayer games and the means with which to play them. So, if you even own a Switch, I would question the legitimacy of that statement.
