The key takeaway is that it's using the BotW engine so it's going to have a short development cycle compared to the average mainline Zelda game.  I wouldn't be surprised if it's Nintendo's big 2020 holiday title.

Always thought that'd be the case too though. But I think it's very unlikely it makes 2020.

I think Q4 2020. That's over 3 years from when BOTW came out and the engine is exactly the same.

Yeahm the RE part was lame.Honestly, with the "budget" the trailer had, I was expecting something close to a RE 7 or RE 2 remake announcement.

But yeah, it was a very good presentation. Not the best one, but great nonetheless.

Seriously.  That's like, 'filler in a January direct' content.

It's enough time.  BotW's long dev time was mostly due to problems with the engine and if they have that covered while reusing a lot of its assets for a sequel, then holiday 2020 isn't unreasonable.

A solid direct thanks to just moving from game to game with minimal talking.

I'm surprised they all but ignored Mario Maker 2. I guess they know it'll sell gangbusters without needing to take focus from other games at the E3 Direct.

A 10/10 ND tbh.

- Smash DLC characters DQ Hero and Banjo
- NMH3
- BOTW Sequel
- Astral Chain looks sick
- Panzer Dragoon Remake
- Trials of Mana (I hear it's a remake)
- Mana Collection and Contra Collection
- Luigi's Mansion
- Fire Emblem looking epic
- LA Remake with a Zelda Maker built in.
- TW3 serving crow
- DQXI
- Alien Isolation, Spyro, Doom, Wolfenstein and others in third party montage.
- Daemon x Machina looks like it could be solid

A lot of people were expecting a new game style but they're probably saving that for their fall direct.  Nintendo had a packed E3 direct while holding back a lot of expected content.

They never really focused on a game that's about to release the same thing happened with Super Mario Galaxy 2 they didn't focus on it during the E3 in 2010.

It's not impossible. But they don't even have a name, what they showed today screams early development to me. I'd expect it holiday 2021. Even if they do announce it for Holiday 2020 I expect them to delay it.

Whether it's 2020 or 2021, I'm assuming the next game from the 3D Mario team will take the spot for the year that BotW2 doesn't occupy.  So we're happy either way.

Neither will come out in 2020 imo. Unless it's a 3d World port/sequel rather than an odyssey.
