What's the original context of this image?

I'm starting to get excited for MK11 as well. I was about to pay for a month of PS Now just to play a bit of MKXL but somehow I was allowed to re-opt for the 7 day free trial (which I've done in the past already).

And I didn't see if anyone addressed the Shao Khan thing. I'm concerned as well, as I usually don't pre-order, but missing out on an entire character seems extreme.

Also, is MK11 going to have a massive Krypt, do we know yet?

Shao Kahn will be very much like Darkseid was for Injustice 2.  Pre-orders get him for free.  Everyone else can buy him for a few bucks, probably after a short "exclusivity" timeframe for the pre-orders.

Go PC for the mods unless it's a crappy port.

Thanks. Would I be able to "pre-order" the game an hour before release, or is there usually a deadline? I should just buy the game now, as I'm probably going to get it anyways, but I don't like paying for something before I can even get it, and it would be nice to see some review scores first in case it's not so good.

Alright guys, I pretty much think MK is the best fighting franchise out there. Is not even worth arguing with me about that.

Long story short I've recently gone through a brake up so i had to move my shit to my new girlfriends house, and I'm waiting until the end of the month to get a new desk. So even if i pick the pc verdion i wont be able to play until my setup is done. Thats why i don want to pre order just yet (shao khan concerns)Anyway I know that pc version will be pretty much the superior version. I don't care about friends either I just want the best functional and most komplete version of the game.

I know that in the past the pc version of mkx had some problems which I'm not sure what it was but It had a pretty terrible word of mouth

Now my second concern about shao khan. If i buy the most expensive version even after the pre order window will I have access to shao khan for free or I'm pretty much fucked?

Thanks guys

Best franchise that couldn't save the company from being bought out, and before MK9, the last good MK game was... UMK3, and MK9 had to throw out 3D fighting because developers couldn't get it to be as good as Soul Calibur or Tekken.  And it took until MK11 for the females to look like... females.

Anyway  Shao Kahn would be about what? 6 dollars, tops? Not a big deal if you don't pre-order?  Seeing as how it looks like Shao Kahn has a spot on the base roster, you will miss out if you don't pre-order, but it's not a big deal, IMO.

Nah, Deception and Deadly Alliance were good games. They just weren't excellent games.

Having 6 different types of coins, ruby, sapphire, gold, jade, etc, and needing specific types of coins to unlock Drahmin and Hsu Hao.  Game is home to the worst fatalities, and worst characters in the entire franchise.  And that's not even mentioning how stiff the games were.  But, I'm not going to bother trying to draw some line where good and excellent games are supposed to be.  Every mainline fighting game franchise around back then, was better than MK.  VF4, Tekken 4 & 5, Soul Calibur 2, & 3, all of them better than MK:DA, & MK:D.  Mavado wasn't cool then, and he isn't cool today.  Neither is Kobra.

If the games weren't total failures, MK wouldn't have to move back to 2D.  Let's also not pretend like Street Fighter IV had nothing to do with that decision.  Proving that people would still buy 2D fighters.

The game isn't trash today.  Things turned around with MK9, but let's not try to act like the entire franchise was this great thing.  With that said, I'll have plenty of L's to give out to everyone as soon as the game comes out.

Yeah there were a ton of lame characters in Deadly Alliance. One of the best things MK9 did was go back to the 90's characters we all loved. The games sold well. They weren't failures at all.

I thought we were talking about the franchise as a whole, it's what the OP said....  Lack of being able to create an idea that was able to stick forced them to go back to the foundation that was started in the 90s... Having to go back to 20 year old characters because the newer ones weren't good does not make it a good thing.  Like I said, though.  They fixed things starting with mk9, it was every game after UMK3 that was the issue.
