Like i said in the previous thread i don't think 1000 games is something to celebrate on its own because how many of those 1000 games are objectively bad. Quality over quantity in most in cases as far as i am concerned

Though they popularized the concept in gaming back in the 80's, Nintendo has since abandoned the quality over quantity thing.  The pendulum has really swung back the other way now.

If you mean the seal of quality thing, that was partially a marketing gimmick.  They still approved complete trash if there was money to be made.

To be fair quality of their hardware was always good, especially earlier, you can still easily find NES, SNES, N64, GB/GBA...consoles that are completely functional.

Certainly, in my experience, I've had the least problems with Nintendo hardware. But, that's certainly way too small of a sample size to determine a thing. and, I do recall having to blow the dust out of the NES and cartridges all the time. So I'd say there was a bad design there.

On the software side, I'd say that the seal of quality thing did mean a little something.  I feel like there was more crap on Genesis than SNES.  But, maybe it's just that their marketing gimmick fooled me.

The Switch has had more quality 1st party games released for it in less than two years than the X1 and PS4 did for their entire first two years.

Just food for thought.

Well they have both now it seems.  I see a lot of crap, but also a lot of quality stuff in that eshop.

That was thing with every cartridge not just with NES cartridges.

I assumed he was talking about software so that's what I meant.
