Your fake definition is incorrect.  Socialism is:

a political and economic theory of social organization that advocates that the means of production, distribution, and exchange should be owned or regulated by the community as a whole.

Its about a community working for itself.  Not about attacking the 'rich' but I get it:  anything that benefits people is an 'attack on the rich'.

Wrong.

Real socialism is a form of government where the people crowdfund what they want.  And they all pay into that.

not this fear everything theory you have 'duh the are coming for my riches!  Help!'.  If you keep lying to yourself, you are bound to become the source of the fear that keeps you in place.

Medicate is socialism.  Social Security is socialism.  These are programs that benefit the public.  We can discuss the programs merit separately, but if you don't understand on the most basic level what socialism is, I suggest you get you reclaim you thoughts from whatever thinktank has you repeating their lies.

"Its about a community working for itself."

all communities "work for themselves" anything else cannot be defined as a community

"Real socialism is a form of government where the people crowdfund what they want."

ok so if i wanted to lets say build a missile and i convince the idiots of a community to give me funds to build that missile that according to you would be socialism correct?

do patreon and gofundme represent socialism?

"not this fear everything theory you have"

i don't fear everything, but recently my fear of stupidity and ignorance has been expanding rapidly

"If you keep lying to yourself"

about what? the definition of socialism that i can find in dictionaries and is widely accepted?

"Medicate is socialism.  Social Security is socialism.  These are programs that benefit the public.  "

they do not solely benefit the public... to pay for these programs the public must also be taxed and that tax carries the penalty of violence and imprisonment if its not paid

" but if you don't understand on the most basic level what socialism is"

lol that's rich

Absolutely amazing. Look it doesn't how persistent you are.  You are incorrect.   If your goal is to get me to submit to your lies and accept it is nogoing to happen.  I gave you the definition of socialism and you rejected it for your fear based one.  Taxation is the main source of revenue for governments to enact social programs... everyone knows that.  Like what are you actually saying about Medicare?  Never heard of anyone going to jail for this program.  Not paying any taxes can land you in jail in any government. Stop the fear based logic. Violence? Okay lol. GoFundMe is not governmental a program.  There are no penalties for chosing not to participate.  It's like you want to hate something but instead of defining it yoattack the very concept of socialism instead .  Do you have specific examples of the evils of socialism so we can join in your fear?

"If your goal is to get me to submit to your lies"

well if you want to have a discussion on terms that have an established meaning, then i expect you to acknowledge that meaning and not invent your own

" Never heard of anyone going to jail for this program."

ok, what happens to someone who refuses to pay taxes? do you even know?

" Not paying any taxes can land you in jail in any government."

"Violence? Okay lol."

being arrested and thrown in jail does not qualify as violence to you? are you being serious?

this is confusing because you initially deny that people can be arrested for not paying taxes and than right after concede that they do

"GoFundMe is not governmental a program."

exactly... its a crowd funding platform outside of socialism... my point was that crowd funding is not always socialism which was your claim

"It's like you want to hate something but instead of defining it yoattack the very concept of socialism instead ."

i have been criticising the concept of socialism yes, why do you think the concept of socialism is above criticism?

"Do you have specific examples of the evils of socialism"

the seizure of private property

theft under the threat of violence

the lack of respect for individual rights etc etc etc

First we need to come to an agreement on the definition of Socialism.  Nothing contrived, just the actual definition.

Second, taxes has never been a exclusive feature of Socialism.  I don't understand why you keep insisting that it is.  Nor is seizure of land, iminent domain, or jail as penalty for refusing to pay taxes.

Third, I don't agree that the payment of taxes is somehow violent.  Or the execution of law with the intent to collect taxes.  You are really reaching here.  I get that you don't like the idea of taxes, but its common sense that the government need to collect taxes to function or to provide the services that its citizens have voted to enact (either directly or through its own elected representatives or through decree where applicable).

Fourth, there is nothing anywhere above criticism.  I am looking for valid criticism that is unique to socialism that in someway triggers me to think that is evil, invalid, or places a burden on its citizens that exceeds any other form of government.  The benefits of socialism are what make it attractive to some.  As with any man-made system, Socialism can be twisted for personal benefit or malice. At that point it becomes something else like nationalism.    In the same vein, the same could be said about Democracy or Communism.

I never said crowdfunding was socialism.  I said it is a form of government where resources are crowdfunded (through taxation or as you said through: property seizure) and pooled together for the benefit of all individuals.  It is a form of government that uses crowed funding.  Not crowdfunding itself.

Hopefully this better explains my stance on Socialism. If its by the people then I'm all for it.  Its the duty of the people, in my opinion, to make sure that their representatives are being fair, and carrying out their wishes.  Like Democracy, I like the concept of Socialism because, in its true and pure form, it puts the power back where it  belongs: with the people as a whole

"First we need to come to an agreement on the definition of Socialism.  Nothing contrived, just the actual definition. "

i've been using it the entire time

"Second, taxes has never been a exclusive feature of Socialism."

the purpose of taxes is to fund social programs, which are the result of socialist redistribution of resources

i've said already that all governments to some extent have socialist components which are those involving the taking and redistribution of resources and that its not all bad because obviously being able to maintain the roads collectively is a good thing

"Third, I don't agree that the payment of taxes is somehow violent"

i'm quite sure our opinion would change if you were forcibly arrested after not paying taxes

you don't consider forcing someone into a box because they refuse to pay you money to be violent?

"You are really reaching here."

according to you, the person struggling to understand what he's fighting for yes

"but its common sense that the government need to collect taxes to function or to provide the services that its citizens have voted to enact"

governments also use taxes to fund attacks on their citizens quite regularly, but of course when that's brought up the retort is that isn't socialism

"I am looking for valid criticism that is unique to socialism"

you have to understand what socialism is first though

"Socialism can be twisted for personal benefit or malice. At that point it becomes something else"

lol ok the no true scotsman fallacy... so socialism is fundamentally good and there's nothing toxic or harmful about theft under the threat of violence and abolishing ownership of private property... ok

"I said it is a form of government where resources are crowdfunded (through taxation or as you said through: property seizure) and pooled together for the benefit of all individuals. "

how was this beneficial for the black people involved?

"Like Democracy, I like the concept of Socialism because, in its true and pure form, it puts the power back where it  belongs: with the people as a whole"

which shows you've never looked at the history of the world or human behavior properly... then again i can't blame you, most people do not

OK dude, take a breather and explain how the Tuskegee experiment represents socialism.

its the mismanagement of the resources of a community

its just like people paying taxes that are ultimately used to lock them up in jail for shit as minor as smoking a little weed

and people don't seem to realise that its your money that's being used to oppress you by the state

what you need to do is to do is liberate yourself from this idiotic notion that socialism is inherently good and that nothing bad can come out of it

that point of view is woefully ignorant of history

You are in a thread where people have claimed that Hitler was a socialist. The Tuskegee experiment used "subhumans" for research which is the same thing that the nazis did.

Sometimes I wonder if you are capable of putting two and two together.

because hitler was a socialist

his economic policies were socialist in nature

i'm black btw and i don't appreciate you referring to my people as subhumans

except you can actually find me in this thread stating several times that socialism to some extent is necessary for a society to function

how did you miss that? or is me saying that irrelevant simply because i dared to criticise socialism?

because i dared to detail how it has been used repeatedly to oppress people throughout history?

because i have demonstrated the insane amounts of misinformation that is spread about it constantly?

I think a closer analysis will find that your strawman of Cosmic is nearly as silly as you found my post.
