Forums - Sony Discussion - Playstation Classic Announced, releasing in December 3rd with 20 games pre-loaded and cost $99

You know I might actually get this if it has the MOST important PS1 games.

Around the Network

don't really get the point of these but it worked for nintendo, it's understandable that Sony would follow

Nintendo starts releasing mini consoles.

Sega releases retro mini consoles.

Even Atar releases a retro mini console.

Sony: Hold my beer.

Both Sega and Atari did this way before Nintendo though.

Didn't say you haven't

It seems 20 pre-loaded games aren't enough, i hope they picked the best titles, because a lot of people collected & played more than 100 good~masterpiece PS1 games mixed genres based on Top 100 Best PS1 Games Ever or Metacritic or other websites.

Driver is a must include.

It's not the first time Sony has copied something Nintendo has done, and it won't be the last. It's nice to try and pretend that the companies we spend money on are loving, caring, and would be the best of friends if they were real people, but the reality is that they are a business looking to make money, and as long as they deem that the backlash they get from copying a competitor is less than the profits they will rake in (i.e., an overall net gain), then it doesn't really matter to them.

Right, and I have no problem with that. Nintendo created a competitive spirit with their classic line. It'd be stupid for Sony not to release one and we all sort of expected it. The goal is to make money. I just think calling it PSOne Classic...like their marketing team or software/hardware planning team couldn't come up with a different name than their rivals? That's just kind of embarrassing.

Every product is an evolution of an existing product.

Every company is inspired by their competitors.

Let's get this thread back on topic.
