I think Others always only gives games 2 days to sell on their opening week.

Doesn't the second week of sales sometimes eclipse the first week, for a big game, in Others?

yes, usually...

but I think MK launched on Monday or Tuesday. That is why it was in the Netherlands charts this week, usually big title don't show up on the Neth charts until week 2... even GTp was not on the netherlands chart during week 1.

I am gonna launch when everyone calls MK a flop or whatever when it charts normal its first 2 weeks. (at least a 40% drop week 2)

I will sell 600k this week 350k week 2, 230 k week 3... THEN we shall see what kind of legs it has. I think it will settle at about 60-80k a week in others, and 20k a week in Japan for several months.

Was released on Friday (11th) in the UK

I wouldn't count on it, remember Europe is the country of legs, not openings.

 Now Europe is a country?

:P

On topic: I agree with you, it will sell very well in the long term, but not in the opening week.

I think 930k.

it opened between 175-230k in the UK alone, and is #1 on all charts so far...

It breaks 1 million easily, even if source was 100k high on Japan. I think the Others minimum is 650k. Could easily be 750k however.

End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)

Wii- 72 million   3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases

360- 37 million   Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak

PS3- 29 million  Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut

Nintendo does not properly advertise their games so intial sales are always not as good as they could be. But in the long run they usually end up outselling their competition. For example SSBB could have totally been near 3 million in its 1st week if Nintendo had better marketting. The commercials were terrible and most of the ads were on sites where the game was already an instant buy for the informed gamer.

Oh well, MK Wii could sell a million in one week but it would take extra effort of European Wii owners.

Maybe sometime the EU will be a country.  It could be like UK :)

It should break 1 mil. However I wouldn't say easily. 173-235k in Europe doesn't mean at least 650k in Others. 1/3 of Wii is userbase is in UK. So 200k in UK may mean 500-600k in Others as UK sales are generally more front-loaded.

YES IT CAN!!!!
MK Wii ftw!
