We’ve played really badly…. Thankfully we have Ronaldo!

We haven't had a team playing decent football yet, maybe Russia but no one realy believes Russia will get far or Belgium but they played the worst team in the tournament.

Not for a full match, but we have had some teams play good football for a bit of a match. Brazil were playing well before they scored their goal and gave up. Mexico and England both played some good football in the first half of their games too.

Agreed. Thought Spain did well too, that game was really exciting.

Anyway, I’d be satisfied with anyone of the best teams winning (Argentina, Brazil, France, Germany, Spain, Belgium). Have to see more from England.

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

You only want to see a big team win?

Define “big”. Belgium never won anything, and haven’t even come close of it (at least in my lifetime). Regardless, if smaller teams play badly and have few/no good players, then yeah.. I will hope the “big” ones keep winning.

So you´d rather see a team with only star players win then an underdog?

This game would be more interesting if the players shot at some point.

Hmm, pie.

I laughed my ass off at Pepe flying across the pitch when Benatia slapped him on the shoulder near the end of the match!

Martin Keone was co commentator on BBC, he laughed at it and said if he did that back in the day with someone like Shearer, he'd be laughed at and walked over.

Game wasn't the best. Portugal's aging central defence needs to change. Fonte isn't the footballer he was when he was with Saints, he's playing in China now and Pepe is old. The need to get some youth in, build on on the left back and Cedric, get Periera and Rui in there for the future.

Yeah, Argentina has the same issue with CB's as well, old or slow or both. Germany has the best defenders all in all imo, Hümmels and Boateng are very technical and can play absurdly long passes with precision, starting the play from their own third, Süle is a tank, unstoppable when he's in form. Kimmich doesn't even need descriptions, he's a complete RB. Their weakness may be on the left side. Spain has really good defense as well, but Ramos is slow and is often forced to resort to martial arts or other tricks and is prone to getting warnings, Pique is nowhere near Ramos' level at reading the play. Jordi Alba is terrific in attack, not so much defending.

Many of the great teams have rather aging squads, many central players are in the twilight of their careers, I think a lot of managers rely too much on routine and too little on talent and youthful energy. That's what I like about France at the moment; their starting 11 is usually quite young and full of energy, but they need more precision in their play than they're currently showing.

All in all, I'm really enjoying the competition, I love the surprises and underdogs and VAR has been a resounding success in my opinion!

Uruguay still suffering with their bad aim. How it can be that poor when they earn millions a year to just play ball? I mean, we are talking about eighteen square meters of goal area: over a hundred times the basket in basketball.

The competition overall has a low technical level so far, it feels more like watching a national tournament from outside the European big five than a world cup. I thought teams would play better after the anxiety of the first round waned, but I guess not.

Both Uruguay and Portugal played lazy games today, though Morocco and even the Saudis did put up a fight but were simply outclassed.

The moment Iran gets the ball they lose it lol. The Spanish goalie is just there relaxing sipping on lemonade.
