Calling Kid Icarus dormant is a little rich compared to these other series, but I want another of those. Barring that I'd love a new Wario Land, Shake-It! was amazing.

We haven´t heard anything about the franchise since the last game in 2012 except that Sakurai doesnt want to make another one and that Nintendo was dissapointed with the sales. Pretty sure they dont have any plans with the series.

As I said, in comparison to the other franchises on here, several of which havent had games since the GameCube era.

I've heard about Sakurai not planning on more, but I haven't actually heard Nintendo said they weren't happy with Uprising's sales. That's disappointing.

You know what I really want rebooted? StarTropics and The Mysterious Murasame Castle. StarTropics by Retro and MMC by Team Ninja.

Don't recall any of Ninja Theory's games. What have they done, and how good were they?

Damn I meant Team Ninja.

´Needlessly depressing´ It´s not. It has a depressing beginning and a depressing ending and both are necesary to tell the stor Itoi wanted to tell. The slogan of the franchise was ´there is no crying until the end´ and this was the end. This was supposed to be the last and to end it the ending is what it is. It´s not a spit in your face it´s litereally the way to let you know. ´this is the end, the characters are alive but its done this is it there is nothing left.´ The biggest problem with localizing Mother 3 is the Magypsies and im 100% certain its whats holding Nintendo back from releasing it.

What's wrong with the Magypsies?

To me nothing I really enjoy them they have some of the most fun dialogue in the game. I just think Nintendo in this day and age when people are more on edge of the topic of being transexual then ever to include it in a game. I really hope its not what´s holding them back from releasing it but I do wonder if this is a factor that affects them from re releasing it. Also the airmachines in the underwater section is something that could hold them back. Again I really hope its not as this is my favorite game and petty shit like this shouldnt stop them from releasing a masterpiece to a bigger audience.

It can't be TOO hard to bring transexual characters into a Nintendo game for outside Japan, can it?

They already did years ago with Birdo:

Signature goes here!

Then I guess it'd be okay for them to do The Mysterious Murasame Castle.

Don't know exactly what a Retro Studios version of StarTropics would look like. Would it have the same gameplay mechanics or something totally new?

Honestly, I'm basing it on retro's diversity as a studio. To go from Prime to Returns to potentially StarFox now is no simple feat, and I'd like to see their approach to something more grounded and narrative-focused. And honestly, I see a lot of parallels between them and naughty dog, as well as StarTropics to Uncharted, so that's a big reason for me. I think they're a better game design studio with worse writers, so I really want to see how they'd tackle a game in a similar genre with hardware of semi-comparable technical capability to Uncharted on the PS3.

I'd guess that they'd be able to make a game that is more open thanks to the hardware, but with mechanics that are more complex as well. Since I don't imagine StarTropics needing the narrative nuance of an Uncharted, I'd love to see how they'd compare, selfishly.

That's literally the only reason btw; I'm not a StarTropics fan at all, I'm just really fascinated by a made up comparison in my head between Retro and ND.

And maybe, just as a joke, they change StarTropics' Zoda so that he's the same Zoda from F-Zero.

Haha honestly any more references with no F-Zero would depress me.

Who says it would have to be WITHOUT F-Zero? :)

Nintendo.
