When did I ever say someone was going to buy a Switch to play PC games? I also never mentioned the portability of the Switch to my knowledge.

I've been wrong twice? One, I never said emulation was piracy, and 2, I don't remember ever saying that PC doesn't get Nintendo's exclusives via emulation.

Apologies. Got users mixed up, meant to be in response to HoangNhatAnh.

OK, so you can play it while walking in the park and put it in the pocket as well as turn on/off any time you want just by push a button. Again, i want to play them right now: Xenoblade 2 and the next Super Smash Bros, any option?

There are plenty of PC's that fit that description.

And whether you want to play them or not right now is irrelevant.

Irrelevant? This year is Super Smash, Xenoblade 2 is 2017, why wait several years later to play them? Not to mention when you finally can play Xenoblade 2 on PC, Xenoblade 3 and Xenoblade X2 can be released already

So if you aren't buying a console for future potential releases, then what does influence your purchasing decision?

In the end though, it's ultimately irrelevant, your purchasing decisions are not going to be representative of the persons next to you, you aren't the entire market.

You are changing the goal posts, that is a logical fallacy. You already lost the prior argument that you presented.
The fact of the matter is... Each and every single game that you presented in your argument will be on PC where it will look and run better.

One thing to keep in mind is that... The PC is not just some big beige box that sits in the corner of a room you know, it's everywhere, it's in cars, it's tablets, it's laptops, it's handhelds... You name it, it's not a static form factor, you think it? The PC probably has done it.

And lastly... Another false assertion is that you are chalking emulation up to piracy? Emulation isn't actually piracy.
You aren't duplicating or pirating software.

And you made the correct purchasing decision that suits your needs/wants/desires.
I bought the Xbox One X for different reasons, obviously not exclusives as everything is on PC where it looks and runs better anyway.

Still a long way from that point though. Doom looks like garbage on the Switch, massive compromise on visuals.
Performance is where it really hit home which impacted upon it's gameplay.

X1X is a good machine, that per MS own decisions with regarding to not make much games themselves and also make games anywhere lost much of the reason to own... and I agree that it may take a long time (probably more than 10 years) but for general market that point will be reached someday.

Of course not. PC aside, the better looking, better performing version of the game is the way to go. Since this criteria rarely applies to the Switch version of most games (and I'm being generous here), the Switch's only charm is first party and/or exclusives. I drive, so playing on the go is a non-issue for me. I would try, but my insurance premiums might go through the roof.

That is basically my situation where people go all gaga on the portability and I just see as something irrelevant to me, I can't play on commute since I drive. On the work I can only do quick play on cell at most, and at home I rather use the TV so no space for a HH even though I own DS, 3DS, PSP and PSVita.

Yes, you bashed the price point of Switch but ignored on purpose it used a small mobile chip then compared it to the newest, biggest home console which is $500. Yeah, sound right. I don't see you criticize Vita price when it is near $300 and still way weaker than ps3, 540p is not even HD. Why don't you criticize Sony for drop vita support as well as keep vita games in JP while ps4 games were bring to the West and don't have any intention for the next successor of vita?

All my favorite series are on Nin systems, in other words, all are Nintendo first/second party games, of course, i support them because i don't want them disappear,  the other games on other systems, not so much. I play them because curious, i only play a bit and then leave it, why waste money for games i have no desire to finish? They can sell amazing or fail then die off, meaningless to me

You weren't even on this thread when Vita was a thing and this thread isn't even about Vita, so why would I be talking about it? But in case you want to know, I paid 50 bucks for my PSVita mainly to use as my second controller and try out remote play. You can guess I'm not satisfied with the performance and bought another controller (guess what, same price as the Vita). Almost every single person in this forum criticizes Sony for not supporting Vita, again off-topic, your point?

We can see how much love you have for anything outside of Nintendo, still a criticism against Nintendo isn't a personal attack against you nor is even a bash, you are just to emotionally attached to it to even see.

Nintendo launched and market Switch as a console that is portable, so it effectively launched at 300 USD being weaker than X1 and PS4 while costing 50-100 USD more at the time it launched so that is a big issue when we  are discussing the topic on the thread. And that is where the apologies come from, "but it is a HH" to deflect the performance and "but it is a console" to deflect the price, while in reality it have the pros and cons of being both and someone liking or not the proposition is tied to he valuing more the pros or disliking more the cons. Still the defensiveness come from people trying to over value the pros and deny the cons.

PS4/Xbox 1 must be $250 at launch, LOL. And i don't see you criticize Sony about vita, almost everyone, but where are you?

You entered VGC like what 4 years after Vita was launched and criticized? Do you need continuous criticism about a system that is already basically dead?

PS4 and X1 launched to battle one another without any other console doing better performance than they, the only one you have to fault for launching underpowered WiiU near they and them causing Switch to launch in the middle of the gen against much cheaper consoles is guess who, Nintendo? Consoles launching at 400 USD isn't anything abnormal (and X1 was heavily criticized to cost 100  more just to have kinect), while a HH at 300 is considered expensive.

"HH at 300 is considered expensive", yeah to most Sony fans. I remember in Gematsu many Sony fans compared vita price to Switch then claimed vita is $250 only while stronger than 3ds and can do anything Switch can. Look like they ignored $40 - $50 memory card require fon purpose for their justification. If Sony vita can have cost $300 why Nintendo Switch can't?

It is irrelevant because the time frame isn't the argument you presented. Ergo. You are moving the goal posts. Ergo. A logical fallacy. Ergo. Your argument is entirely redundant.

With that in mind... Switch emulators are already starting to happen, can't wait to see how the likes of Doom and Xenoblade looks on it. ;)
Not that I would ever play those games personally anyway.

Now lets compare how both systems handle while riding on a public transportation system

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

I'm referring mostly to the massive resolution boost which is part of the visuals.

A single gen ahead would simply be the resolution X1 and PS4 are achieving. The Switch version of Doom is well below that.

So lets say 1.5 gen ahead!

Wouldnt it be just a 1 generation gap?

Switch is somewhere between PS3/360 & PS4/XBO while Pro/X are between PS4/XBO & PS5/XB4

Switch demonstrates greater capabilities than 7th gen consoles. Essentially it can better handle new engines, its play last gen content at higher resolutions (mixed performance), but it still feels like a far cry from what 8th gen consoles are doing.

In a nut shell, the best looking Switch content resembles last gen but with extra polish.

Doom is impressive on Switch, yet nowhere near the standard X1 version in asset quality, effects, resolution, performance, etc.

Well that's why we excuse the Switch's limited capabilities.

It cost more, much less powerful, but its portable...
