Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Super Smash Bros coming to Switch in 2018

The thing is why would a port have a mysterious trailer? Bayo, Mario Kart, Hyrule Warriors, etc just got regular trailess and it's not like people don't know the characters there. Might be a new smash but who knows.

It's releasing this year so it can only be a port, but as the Inklings show, it'll be an enhanced port, hopefully including all the content from the 3DS and Wii U versions and then some.

The last Smash Bros released in 2014. Not the shortest time span to develop something.

Could be new.

The Democratic Nintendo fan....is that a paradox? I'm fond of one of the more conservative companies in the industry, but I vote Liberally and view myself that way 90% of the time?

I'VE NEVER BEEN SO HAPPY IN ALL MY LIFE

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

Its been 4 years if Im not mistaken since the last Smash.More than enough time to make a new game.

That's 4 years that's actually a long time as development goes especially for a fighting game, factor in they could also reuse the engine and some assets like they did with Splatoon 2.

What really remains to be seen is what approach the game takes compared to the previous, in another thread some of us suspected Smash could arrive this year because of the online subscription finally going live.

I think it's new. iirc Hal Laboratory didn't work on 4, Bandai Namco did but in the teaser you can see that only Hal Laboratory is credited. Wouldn't Bandai Namco be credited too if it was a port?
