Forums - General Discussion - How much sleep do you need?

I usually get in about 7 full hours every night.

When I was in High School (ten tears ago), I would literally sleep about 4 hours a night and would still be able to function. I have no idea how I was able to achieve this. Anything less than 6 hours now and I feel exhausted.

I'm pretty flexible - 7 hours is the minimum requirement though.

However, I feel especially splendid when I get 9 or 10 hours lol.

6.

But I can sleep for an entire day too if allowed.

6-8 hours depending on quality of sleep (how long it took to fall asleep ect, restfull? ect ect).

In my teen years I needed 9-10. Now it's the complete opposite. I think it's a combination of cutting way back on my drinking which has enabled more quality sleep and quitting my labor-intensive night job that caused me to need a lot more sleep, but now I'm getting like 5-6 most nights (I'll usually "catch up" and collapse a day or two per week though), and I usually feel fine.

I only need like 5-6 hours to function, but I like having 8-10 because I just love sleeping so much.

From Sunday through Wednesday: 3 hours of sleep at noon time from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM & 3 hours of sleep midnight early morning from 4:10 AM to 7:10 AM

Thursday: 6 hours of sleep at noon time from 2:30 PM to 8:30 PM

From Friday through Saturday(Holidays or off time): 10 hours of sleep from 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Usually 7 hours. Today I slept almost 10 for some reason.

At least 7 hours, 8 is optimal though

Usually 5 to 6 and then after a few days like this I do one night of 10. The weird thing is that I don't sleep at night, I just get sleepy when the sun rises and then I sleep in the morning, I do this because I can, but it's not a conscious option, it's just the way my brain likes to work... At night I'm very active and focus and in day time I feel like I'm just working at 75%...
