And since Nintendo Power got sold off and isn't even associated with Nintendo anymore I'm not sure they even have any credibility.

I have the PS2 version, and plan on getting the Wii version, even if it's not better. I like to support developers that take a risk on great games that don't sell well.

The reason I linked the above quote in, is doesn't separating from the company your helping promote add credibility, not take it away?

I wouldnt buy it, the original devs arent even assosiated with UbiSoft anymore. Clover is done and finished.

Anyways, I prefer the look of the PS2 version. It actually gives you the feel that the world is paintable.

Clover was associated with Capcom, not ubisoft. And Ready at Dawn, the people that made the God of War Chains of Olympus you so praise are behind the Wii port. :)

Also, it will look identicle to the PS2 version with slightly better graphics as it has been know for a long time that the Rice Papering has been included.

Know your facts next time, it saves us all some trouble. Though if people didn't constantly try to downplay the much improved Wii version of a PS2 game (According to Capcom anyway, but what do they know) with incorrect and outdated information, we'd have nothing to talk about.

Last time anyone talked about the game they removedthe rice paper effect plus why should I care about staying up to date on games that have beeout and being ported to the Wii? I traded my Wii in remember?

So in otherwords you wanted to try and take a jab at a game's hype and had no qualms in using outdated information to do so. Outdated information that you defend with, "Well I don't really care about this game anyway, I just wanted to shit talk it".

Even if that is your case, tell me, at what point was it ever believed that Clover was associated with Ubisoft? Lol.

Ah well, no sense worrying about it. Maybe someone in your position should act a little more prudently next time, look before you leap is all I'm saying. People look to you as the voice of reason on these forums and you've done a decent job so far bu don't let them down now.

Actually if you read the IGn reviw, then ssj12 is right about the greaphics. The rice paper texture is not as pronounced and that is seen as a big draw back for IGN. Still a great version, but maybe you need to be a bit better informed as well to make such grande statements...

"Removed" as ssj12 said and "not as pronounced" as you paraphrased from the IGN review are 2 very different things.

If the PS2 version is better for drawing, then they must have really screwed up on the pointing portion. I never played the PS2 version, but I imagine that it would have been hard with the dualshock (or maybe it's because I never played a PS2 that much). The wiimote seems like a natural fit for painting. Well, the next few days ought to clear everything up.

EGM says they botched some of the special graphical effects on the Wii version (No bloom, paper filter barely noticeable, no ink bleeding effect and outlines don't squiggle). The controls are "better" if you like waggle, but not that much better than the ones on PS2.

Considering how important the art is in Okami, I would recommend the original PS2 version. Either way you can't go wrong purchasing this game.

With all of this attention, I see no reason why we all shouldn't buy either the Wii or the Playstation 2 version. As long as we play some form of this game, justice will be served.

@izaaz: now lets start the cherry picking. ssj said its graphically inferior. ponimusha screams hell no, you uninformed bastard. i say hell yeah, read the reviews.

easy, no?

I don't see any screaming being done. I see Onimusha12 correcting ssj12 on his opinion, based on false information. And then when ssj12 said he had no interest in the wii version, Onimusha12 questioned why he used outdated information to shit on a game.

And unless I'm seeing it incorrectly, all ssj12 was talking about was the rice paper effect. I don't see any reference to anything else related to being graphically inferior. In fact IGN, you know the review you read, it said that it looks "fantastic" in 480p and 16:9 widesceen. The only thing they mention is a subtler/less pronounced paper filter (which you stated), which ssj12 said was totally removed........not the same thing.

Reading comprehension, easy, no?

well I dunno you guys, but EGM has showed to be a bit biased against the Wii since it came out. I read their Trauma Center New blood review and I think they really overreacted with the control.

Anyway, so far Okami for wii had a very good reception.

I think we all just have to wait and see. I'm buying it on Wednesday so I'll compare then

BAM! There it is!

Wii Code 3456 7941 4060 2924
COD MW Reflex 541192229709

I haven't played the Wii version to compare, but the controls would have to be absolute ass to be considered worse than the PS2 controls. The fact of the matter is, the analog pretty much sucked for the brushwork. Really, one of the earliest tasks it to draw a pole for some old woman to hang her clothes on and no matter what I did it wouldn't work until I was finally able to line myself up perfectly perpendicular to the freaking thing. And I highly doubt the controls get any better (I only played ~6 hours), though aparently if you like the game enough you can get over the fact that the controls suck and even pretend that they are good on PS2.

You do not have the right to never be offended.
