I've said it before, I think we need a close month to know for certain but I've also provided other data that indicates a bias.

Going by Nov-Dec it appears there is a bias, however these months are probably the toughest to get a clear picture on anyway. Although in close months, if Switch is ahead it doesn't always seem to "win" NPD. I expect after LABO buying habits to change a little though and maybe Amazon will give us an even clearer picture then.

I totally skipped those months because people said I couldn't lol. I still found data that could suggest a bias. I'm hoping for a close month on Amazon soon to finally put it to rest one way or another.

The thing with LABO is that it probably won't change buying habits too much because it will be bought for young children (although personally I would pretend it's for my boy and secretly it would be for me:) ) So the older demographic would be buying it for their children anyway.

Yeah it does look like that, and people in the amazon thread have been saying stuff like "switch is destroying the competition"
Now NPD is out and the win is maybe ~20k over the PS4.... not exactly destroying its competition if its winning by like 8-10%.

We have to wait for data but it's funny that this is the reason the whole bias theory was bought up because of these people, even though past Amazon showed similar ranking and but a close fought battle in the NPD. When it was bought up it quickly turned on to the people bringing up the theory.

You sort of get what i say about LABO. (Nice excuse for getting it btw!) My point was really that there are a few saying there's a Nintendo bias on Amazon because its demographic is older atm. After Christmas and then LABO, i'm guessing it will be more in comparison with the other consoles. Just a hunch but we shall see anyway.

Waiting for Sony to announce a $299 bundle

299$ + God of War.

Id love to see a price drop to 249$ but.... probably wont happend by then.

It does seem that Sony is taking their sweet time maintaining the $299 pricepoint. The PS4 sold pretty well last month, so Sony isn't in any hurry to drop the price until the revenue starts dropping.

They'll probably clear inbentory in the channels and then do god of war or horizon.

They are stretching out the gen. Those who thought ps5 next year were crazy. Even 2020 is a push imo.

I think, looking at the positions on Amazon sometimes it would be easy to get carried away and think the Switch is going to win by lots but what seems to be the case here is it's only reliable as an indicator. In the scheme of things, it's not reliable as per actual numbers. It's a good indicator of who will "win" but not as an indicator of how much by. The figures/placements can often be misleading, i agree.

I've said it before, I think we need a close month to know for certain but I've also provided other data that indicates a bias.

I think software & accessories being in the same list  as hardware is what makes it seen like one can be dominating.

If it was just a hardware ranking it would look like

NSW-1 & 2

PS4-3, 5 & 6

XBO-4, 7 & 8

When you look at it this way there is no huge gaps in rankings.

I see what you mean. Yes you could be right and it will definitely alter over time.

2020 is not a push. Sony has a lot of 1st party games planned for this year that I expect a few of them to be delayed to 2019 to create room. 2019 should have plenty of 1st party games, too, but 2020 will be when we start seeing a significant decline in software support, so it would be a good time to announce and release the PS5.

Yes there is a Clear Bias towards Nintendo with Amazon, I'm sure most rational people see this. The more important question though I think is
Why is this? Why does the Amazon model fit more with peoples Nintendo buying habits than the other console companies?
Perhaps its because the console is smaller, that's a guess from me but probably not a good one, So what is it?

NPD is biased too, it had switch at number 1 for HW
