Doesn't change things; Switch is already far behind PS4/Xbone and not getting the big AAA multiplats, so the release of PS5 and Nextbox won't really change anything.

Which is why you should have just said that instead of trying to attack the idea that power matters for the Switch by drawing a comparison to past consoles.

The idea that a system will stop selling because far more powerful systems come out flies in the face of numerous past examples, I simply pointed them out. Are the circumstances identical? No. But this notion that the release of more powerful systems inherently means an immediate death for successful hardware is simply false.

And thats exatly my point with potential, Switch Pro, like wrote, at end everything is about profit, if Switch sales and Switch games are still selling, some 3rd party will definitely still port some games to Switch/Pro despite PS5/XB2. I mean Switch is still less than one year on market and still need to have peak year, easily can have instal base of around 100m at end of LT.

I suppose you're right but if you really don't think the Switch will get a reduction in sales because of graphical power in the future(which I agree with mostly) you should have just said that instead of even entertaining the idea. 

Its sales will tail off in the end like every system does as it becomes old hat while trendy newcomers taker the spotlight. I just don't think graphics will be the main reason for that, as being graphically inferior to its competitors hasn't stopped it selling like hotcakes so far. I mean if people were still buying a 240p system weaker than the Wii in 2017, I think there's a place for the Switch in 5-6 years as a cheap low end product.

No, I don't think the graphical capabilities of the PS5 will effect the Switch's sales.

Well, I think longer console cycles will be the norm form here on out anyway. There is simply no need for new consoles every 5-6 years anymore as there is nothing you can't do on the machines already available except for super-duper-extra shiny grfxx, but if that's important to you, you're probably already playing on PC anyway. =P
