Those 2 mio numbers were from before the holidays. That makes it 14 months not 24. The first half year it was basically sold out everywhere, so I don’t see how that fits in your agenda.

People are interested. It’s mainly the price holding them back, which could be seen last holiday when PSVR even outsold X1X on Amazon for some days.

That doesn’t mean it’s for everyone and it doesn’t need to be.

The system got more support than some game consoles get in their first year. But yeah, disaster right?!

The agenda is yours, not mine.

I am looking at facts. The thing is a sales disaster. The masses are not interested and yet some keep trying to push it down our throats. Much like the kinect. If there was demand like you try to pretend, they would have produced more. The thing isn't sold out today, so obviously demand was met.

If the price was a problem then the Switch wasnt a sucess. The thing is the same price.

People are simply not interested. Sony definitely wants to keep pushing it to make up the investment money though. But, there is no point in being in denial over how this is doing.

Just nope. The fact is Sony expected a slow market penetration. They expected it to be more popular than the other alternatives, but they never thought it would lit the markets the way some other products do. They didn't expect a Wii-like scenario. Had you followed something other than your own skewed narrative, you would know that already.

Then you compare the price of the Switch with the PSVR. Which further highlight how unreasonable your approach to this topic is.

The price of PSVR isn't the same as the Switch. It's the price of a PS4 + the PSVR.

YOU are not interested. And as with anything you're not interested in, you bash it and push your biased inaccuracies as facts.

Just say you don't like it [despite not having experienced any of it], and don't talk for the masses. Not everything needs to sell 10m out of the gate to be deemed having potential.

Now, to put things into perspective, which your comments in this thread sorely lack:

Y'all know the PS5 will be literally the same console with the same controller except it will be more powerful and it will have Spotify lmao. It's not like finding out what the next generation will be is exciting anymore except for what it comes from accessories and Nintendo consoles.

So your purpose here is to talk shit about PlayStation to then praise Nintendo in a Sony related thread...

Most of all, not everyone enjoys VR. I'm a heavy VR enthusiast and also still play without VR.

For what reasons? because the games dont support VR or do you also play games like Resident Evil 7, Skyrim, Dirt Rally, Eve Valkyrie without VR even if you got the option to play them in VR?

Main reason atm is that GTS has crap VR support. Yet even if it had full support, I do the occasional sport races during lunch breaks or while working out. They start at :03 :23 :43 last 6 or 7 minutes, quick break. The current headset is still too much hassle to pop on and off for a few minutes.

When I play a game with my kids or my wife it's not in VR since we only have one headset and no multiplayer VR games.

Games that fully support VR I don't play without. RE7 has a few non VR add-ons. Never tried them, not interested. I also have not played Wipeout or Obduction yet, I'm waiting for the VR patch.

However something like Nex Machina I would not want to play in VR, it adds nothing and only makes it harder to have an overview with the high fov. I tried Stardust Ultra in VR and it wasn't as good as on a screen, too hard to keep track of everything going on.

If it wants to fail then yes

Ok, I get it, but seriously, I don’t need to play South Park, cities skyline, rayman, etc on a 10 foot high virtual screen. And playing the game on a tv emulator while there’s a real tv in front of me seem superfluous. And like I said before, personally, I cannot play completely cut out of my environment for that long. Yeah I might be sitting with people at the other side of the world, but what about the ones I live with ? My kids or my wife may want to ask me something, or I need to at least have an eye on my kids to be sure that they don’t destroy the house. There still two players games that exist and will continue to exist, so what, you buy two vr headset ? They will cost more than regular controller. Games like just dance have appeal for some people even if you don’t play them, and they would be just dangerous to play with vr...

Your kids might actually enjoy VR also alot, but I agree in general that playing VR while you have to take care of your kids isnt great, but honestly, playing a video game on a tv isnt much better either.

Ah okay, I have a Switch as well so if I just want a relaxing short gaming burst I ususally use that (its so quick and relaxing in handheld mode).

So I basically dont play on the TV at all anymore. Just played this months free Deus EX MD some days ago and it just wasnt enjoyable on a screen. Aiming without aim controller just sux lol :D

Well, they might do something else, they might be playing with a board game or with their toys, or have friends over. I don’t play with them or need to put all my attention on them 100% of the time. While i’m not directly interacting with them, sometimes I take time to play on the tv. Or when they are watching tv I play on my switch. it’s the reality on parents gamers

I've played videogames for decades, and if it's one thing I've realized it's that I'm not looking for new ways to play games. Just new games to play.

So you think we should have stayed in the 8bit era and all those 3D polygon tech is overrated ?

Gameboy Color and all later handhelds are mistakes ? Just good old black/white gameboy forever?

Nah, I don't think so. I don't think Sony is bold enough to do that, and I don't think it's necessary to do that. Why not both ways of playing games? I wouldn't buy the PS5 if it's VR-only, I can assure you that. It'd be pretty much a similar machine than the PS4, but more powerful.
