Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Netflix 'still exploring' Switch

Considering Netflix is holding another anime I was interested in hostage, I say they can screw off. Picking up shows is fine, delaying your release for three months is what villains do.

Hopefully Crunchyroll shows up while these clowns are waffling.

I don't recall if it was Spawnwave or nintendo prime, or otherwise.  Someone on the interwebs had a theory that it may have something to do with switch having Hulu, Hulu being owned by Disney, Disney pulling its content from Netflix to stream on its own software (now being Hulu) and thus causing some kind of partnership agreement between Disney/Hulu and Nintendo.

/shrug

I don't have internet anymore, so as much as I miss Netflix, its not a big deal to me at this time   /sigh

I'm not sure if I'd use it, but it would be odd for Netflix to not be available on any device these days heh

What's to explore? It's an internet-connected device with a screen on it. That's pretty much all it takes to get Netflix on something.

My one and only concern with adding more features to the Switch is it that will slow down the functionality of the console. Aside from that, the more apps, the better!

How? As long as new apps will not be preloaded or have to have services run in the background it won't slow down anything.

And how would it even slow down anything? Last time I checked people said that the Switch is one of the most powerful mobile devices ever created.

Typo. Swap that "it" with "if".

I'm not doing your job for you. WTF

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Hah!

I think Nintendo Labo explains why Nintendo is waiting on Netflix at the moment.  They want to define Switch in a lot of different ways and do not want it being treated like a normal tablet device.  Streaming applications make it a lot less "interactive" of a system.  It is odd though that they allowed HULU.  Perhaps a deal was made?  Because it has more kid-centric content?  Seems contrary to the initial point.  These are certainly unexplained points in their possible plan. Thoughts?

Have a Netflix button on TV remote.

Won't use it on switch, almost every TV sold these days has smart functionality, everyone has tablets, laptops, phones etc.

I'd rather Nintendo didn't waste any time on this.

I agree Crunchyroll or some other streaming platform are more interesting on the Switch fore then another Netflix app.
