In a Star Wars trilogy, the sequels in that trilogy never do as well as the first movie. The past trilogies show that and the trend continues with this latest one. It's doing as expected.

Still doesn't change the fact that Rey is a Mary Sue with no plausible explanation for it. Unless episode IX comes up with an intelligent and elegant way of explaining why that is, these movies will lose a lot of significance.

The thing is, TFA didn't change things up and people cried, TLJ changed things up and people cried, morale of the story. It doesn't matter what they do, it's a movie that a billion people will go to see and some of that billion will go on the internet and cry about something.

It's still having Disney laughing all the way to the bank for the return on their investment in buying the franchise, never think that "sold less than the last Star Wars movie" means "it made a loss" it just means, it made less crazy amounts of money, but still... crazy amounts of money.
