Loving this game. I'm very happy I didn't let some of the more negative review dissuade me.
Side questing is way improved over the original. I also love the combat which often feels more like a rhythm game than anything else.

Main Negative I feel towards it is the overly sexed female characters. Do they all really need to be wearing lingerie?
It plays well enough into the tropes of its super duper Anime style story, but geeze, every time Pyra stars shaking her tits around when she's anxious makes me feel like some kind of perv for playing this game. And lets not get started on the a scene where a main female character is taught how to attract a man by being a a ditsy plop.

Other than that I'm digging the complexities of the story, No one side seems clearly evil or wrong, the world is a big jangled mess caught up in war and confused ideologies. I like it!

All it does is let you touch walls without getting hurt. I mean sure that's helpful, but doesn't solve the main problem with Tiger Tiger, you still have to play it for hours and hours and hours and hours if you want to maximize Poppi. I've been playing Lv.5 for like 10 hours now yet have only gotten 3 Master Mods, and of course none of them are the ones I want.

What are master mods?

Is there a secret treasure that isn't purchasable? Cause ether wise, it feels like on lvl 1 if you do it perfect every time you could purchase most all items in 10 hours. Feel like I get like 600-800 ether on a lvl 1 run if I do well.  Only takes a couple minutes. Isn't the most expensive items all like only 5k? So like 15 minutes to purchase any one item at most.

The best kind of mod, gives even more stats than level V mods. Maybe I should complain about this more, as I did just get a master tank mod finally! If I can just get 2 evasion mods I'll finally be done with this freaking minigame!

Yeah Lv.5 has parts that can't be obtained anywhere else as far as I'm aware. Pretty sure I have all Poppi blueprints yet cannot make some of the parts I've gotten from Lv.5, such as the aforementioned master mods, as well as higher level stat boosters. I've gotten a couple dark element cores, so I bet light element is probably there too. Also 10 hours was a bit of an exaggeration, that's just how long it feels like. I don't think I've even played Tiger Tiger as a whole for that long, maybe 5 or 6 hours. At this point yeah I can buy whatever I want, but I still gotta play the game for them exclusive items unfortunately.

- Throws stupid roadblocks that halt your progress (not having high level field abilities)

Oh for fucks sake.

What were they smoking when they thought it would be a good idea to gate story progress behind abilities the player may not even have. Field skills are such a terrible, terrible idea.

So which are the ones I should be trying to get, to save me getting cockblocked later?

Basically u need high level of the common elements (wind mastery, water mastery, etc). Pyra's/mythra/wulfuric "focus" is a must and poppi's "leap" too. Also from the top of my head ancient wisdom, dark mastery and noppon wisdom are also needed.

They are not hard to level up, but it's so fucking annoying that you have to stop and start again because of the field ability. It's the one thing i absolutely annoyed the shit out of me in the game.

Well, I finally progressed a bit. It's weird that they would do main story progress through pretty hard fights that you have to grind for. I've done all the side quests now and just want to level up one more time before I attempt that main mission where I have to fight those 3 monsters alone to get the last part for Tora's Blade. I better get him as a partner after that because fighting alone suuuuuucks. Maybe it would be easier if his damn Anker Shots didn't throw the potions as far and as unreachable as possible.

Have you rested in an inn yet in Gormott? There you can redeem bonus exp to level up. It took me a while to figure this out lol.

I know that's how it works. That's how I've been leveling. However I think I saw the Inn in Gormott once but I cannot find it anymore, so I just visit Alrest for that.

While I really liked all the tutorials, there is still some stuff missing that hasn't been explained properly. For example what the hell is up with this Thought Cloud and what are the benefits of buying out shops. And why the fuck I can only claim bonus XP in Inns. Is there a benefit of not leveling up? I wish there was an ingame tutorial to review all that stuff.

Some of that is further explained as you go.  But deeds grant permanent buffs, if you want to know now.  Also, bonus XP is almost like...an in game dificulty adjuster.  The game can be beaten without using it much or even at all.  But if you want an easier time you can use it to level up quicker.  Also, it's a mechanic that helps offset over-leveling isssues encountered by those who really enjoy indulging in side content as they go.  Basically, by setting it up this way, those who want to play all the side content as they go don't wind up so over leveled it's boring since they can choose when and how much they grow from doing the side stuff.

Also, the inn is not fwr from the Fountain in Torigoth.   Look for the bed icon.

Are there any gameplay issues from over leveling, because I definitely intent to do just that? Aside from making everything easier. The only thing I can think of is is harder to come by Trust points because the fights are shorter. But that shouldn't be an issue with the numerous differently leveled enemies in an area.

I read up on Idea points and no one seems to really know what's going on with that. Only thing we know it has something to do with the odds of getting specific Blades.

This game has too much stuff and too many mechanics.

The Idea Points are basically tied to what attributes a character is likely to get when resonating with a blade.  The attributes of blades are tied to those ideas, Justice, Bravery, etc.  Justice is Light and Dark, Bravery is Fire and Water.  So, for example, Nia, who has high Bravery, will tend to get Fire and Water blades when resonating with a core crystal.  That's the point of Boosters, they boost a characters' idea stats in whatever the booster specifies.  So if you really want a wind blade, stacking up the Truth idea builds up the odds.  I haven't looked into raising them on your character though.

And no, being overleveled shouldn't cause mush issue beyond things being easy.

Now the question is if there is any kind of benefit for higher idea stats. Or if all stats at 1 is virtually the same as all stats at 5.

Another question about general attributes like STR, DEX, etc. I know those can be influenced by a lot of abilities and items but what about the natural attribute gain from leveling up? Does every character have a fixed max value or are there consumables to permanently increase attributes and eventually max out every stat of every character to 1000?

Good thing it's Friday. I really need to advance my story enough so I can finally get to the Merc missions.
