Get fucked EA ,WB , Activision-Blizzard, microsoft, ubisoft and sony ...

And anyone that wants loot boxes and microtranasations in the game that are not free to play.

Microsoft and Sony have developed games with loot boxes?

Uncharted 4 has loot boxes, Halo 5 has some sort of pack system, Gears of War 4 also has some sort of pack system and Forza 7 also has something called Prize Crates. I have no idea how the microtransactions in those Microsoft games work though.

They should keep Overwatch the way it is. Battlefront should be regulated.

Long overdue. This shit was starting to get out of hand.

Gambling or not, who cares. We as gamers should all be hoping and celebrating that this gets decided to be gambling.

I don't care what needs to happen or be ruled to get rid of loot boxes, but loot boxes are just bad. They in no way help a game and we should all be hoping for their death.

Literally just mentioned European gambling regulations in the SWBF2 microtransaction thread. Good ol' Belgium

I agree it is gambling. It gives me the exact same impulse.

End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)

Wii- 72 million   3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases

360- 37 million   Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak

PS3- 29 million  Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut

I don't care about lootboxes as long as it only keeps pumping cosmetic stuff.

Indeed. Of course the whole system of in game 'money' stinks too, in my view. "Hey, get this special currency for playing the game to unlock things you used to get just because ... OR pay us lots of money to get loads of it and unlock everything without doing a dang thing."

I can only imagine a time when the next FF game releases and you can pre-order to get a million in game Gil to buy things. :P

Hmm, pie.

The Dutch gambling authorities are also investigating loot boxes in general: https://www.nu.nl/games/5009924/nederlandse-kansspelautoriteit-onderzoekt-lootboxen-in-games.html
We also don't have any laws allowing online gambling here. If the authorities find loot boxes to be online gambling the publishers have simply broken Dutch law. They might have to pull the games (or the microtransactions themselves) from the various online stores permanently if that's the case.

Or they simply give the middle finger and stop supporting their game and shut down the servers for the country. Which is not a problem at all, with VPN, I currently play a bunch of games via VPN because they are not supported in my country.

You live in China? :O

Oh and if they were to do that I'd expect their paying customers who can no longer play the game would give the finger right back to them in the form of a lawsuit.

Brazil, there are some MMOs I like but they are IP blocked in my country (Like Lineage 2 Classic Eu which only works in Europe), so I simply use VPN to overcome this and play with no problems.
