Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Nintendo makes new gamecube contollers but not wavebird.

^That makes sense. GC mode doesn't support Bluetooth.

Hardcore gaming is a bubble economy blown up by Microsoft's $7 $6 billion losses.

i wish they made wavebirds too!

It think the reason they haven't made bluetooth wavebirds is the same reason they didn't make gamecube games played on the wii able to save on SD cards. I don't know what it is but I assume that it is something like the Wii goes into gamecube mode when you play a gamecube game and it no longer knows that it is a wii.

That sounds reasonable. Thanx for the input. If this case it sounds like a firmware update would be needed and that won't happen unless they open SD card limtations.

I love fighting games !!! Come on challenge me !

i need another wavebird -_-U

I really wish that they make a wavebird 2 with bluetooth.

That's exactly what we need. No adapters, no plugging into a wiimote, just a self-contained GC controller that syncs with the Wii.

It's pretty ridiculous that they made the Wii backwards compatible and then cut all support for the controllers needed to make it work.

Of course, given controller prices these days, I suppose it would sell for $60 or something...

@pimpcoop dont be silly and stop being so anti nintendo, you allways have a bone to pick to with them, ninty are doing fine producing their wiis, its easier to make controlers then to spend billions on opening up new wii factories, the problem is their not wireless :( but the worst thing would be if they made a wireless one that pluged into a normal wii remote like everything else does :s

But here is my question. Why remake the gamecube controllers and not the wavebird ???

Its cause nintendo sees so many people making a living selling GC controllers on ebay for $80 new that they decided to do that themselves.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

its prolly cheaper to make the original controler, I mean when the original was out it was $50AU and the wii remote is $70 so I can imagen the parts in the GC remote would be sooooo cheap by todays standards, add wireless or bluetooth and you would have to add another $15 to $20AU or so to the price. Nintendo may not want to put out an expensive stand alone controler (meaning they maynot want to sell the GC controler for $50+AU maybe around $30AU like the plug in periferal controlers for the wii)

Hmmm, its a little too late for me. I already bought 3 Gamecube Controllers from madcatz, if only I knew about this earlier

You poor soul :(

Never liked them tiny madcatz controllers for my GC. So small, the C-stick was funny, odd Macro key. Anywho.... >.>

This is dissapointing news, I also just went out and bought a bunch of used GC controllers from EB up here in the great white north, and they have all been good aside from the purple one. No one likes it, no one uses it, and who ever has to use it is treated like the guy in the middle seat in a car. Shuned like a durable purple step-child.

What's wrong with your purple one? they are the same as any others surely.
