There are 5 people on the Xenoblade team that have been working together since Chrono Trigger - the first game to use New Game+

Although only Tetsuya Takahashi, Makoto Shimamoto, and Yasunori Mitsuda worked on Xenoblade 2 from those 5. Yasuyuki Honne and Tadahiro Usuda on Breath of the Wild.

Makoto Shimamoto also moved onto Breath of the Wild at some point (or the other way around, she moved onto XC2 after Zelda) as she has a credit on Breath of the Wild for game design. For the record, she is credited with a lot as a designer:
Chrono Trigger
Radical Dreamers (Writer)
Xenogears
Xenosaga 1-3
Soma Bringer
Xenoblade Chronicles 1, X, and 2
Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
Her job on Chrono Trigger was interesting, the scripted battles where the enemies jump out into position and such, she did a lot of that content.

Yeah, there's a considerable ammount of pedigree behind Monolith Soft.  People just fail to realize it because none of the Dream Team are there (I don't think) and Takahashi's team was largely overshadowed by the Final Fantasy team.

Slight spoiler if you haven't beaten chapter 8.

Ok, there has got to be a companion art that shows Pneuma (predominantly) along with Pyra and Mythra with the party in the background.  Someone make it happen!

In one of the expansion stories, it would be very cool if they somehow transferred Bionis and Mechonis into the game as two new Titans - although the amount of work required for all the art asset updating, physics, and new text, would be tremendous; it would be a 50€ expansion. Although, keeping the price lower would be something that they’d be able to use to push sales potentially 400,000 units higher (at current levels, assuming this game follows the usual trend regarding sales curves for these sorts of RPGs). Potentially higher if it gives the game increased recognition as one of the best RPGs ever made.

That would be inconsistent with the story, no?

If they want to do something with Xenoblade 1, remaster it in the Xenoblade 2 engine.

Bah! You’re right Nuvendil

I wasn’t thinking about all of the Titans merging into the continent at the end. It would require significant more work than simple XC1 world remastering; since all that stuff would have to be a post-game story.

I meant that the games happen simultaneously and by the end of 2, Bionis and Mechonis are destroyed.  Mechonis is nowhere to be seen and the remains of Bionis are a small continent.

I don’t think it would be too difficult an adjustment to the story to have a remade Bionis and Mechonis materialize as part of the real Universe after the events of Xenoblade 2. Again though, I wasn’t thinking about the other Titans merging into the continent. Hypothetically they could build a world based on that, but by this point it’s a new game size amount of work.

I would really like advice from the Xenoblade community. I’ve never played a Xenoblade game before, and I don’t understand how the battle system works, but I’m into JRPGs and was always curious about the series. Plus, I haven’t played a JRPG since FFXV, which was a mess imo (a lot of highs and lows, never knew what to think of it).

My question is: Do you think I would like XC2? Is it a good place to start? Is it hard to get into the game and combat system (I hated Octopath Travelever based on the demo because it felt overly complicated)?

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

It's easy to get into while having a tonne of depth, the game for the first 3 chapters walks you through mechanics anyway before leaving things up to you.
