Forums - Gaming Discussion - Xbox One X Shadow of War shows profound improvements over PS4 Pro

Well, the textures are certainly nicer than the other console versions for sure. It seems to be doing the stuff expected of X1X right now. The 12 gigs of ram is definitely working in its favor.

I do have to wonder, though, what happened to the textures on the other console versions of the game? The screenshots I have of Shadow of Mordor are much sharper in comparison to those I've taken in Shadow of War, with none of the ugly ground textures that are present even in the ultra settings I've seen in PC screens of Shadow of War. The game feels like a step back from its predecessor in some areas. There are additional graphical effects, but the game is uglier overall.

It's almost as if a 50% power difference matters, like it did so far this gen...

tbh the "main" differnce is the xbox one x uses higher quality textures.... that has nothing to do with the power of it.

It has to do with it haveing 12gb of ram, instead of the 9gb of the PS4pro.

For the first extra price it would want to be. As expected really.

Are we ready for the reversal of PS4X1 release?

Honestly, I think games look good enough on the original PS4 and XB1 anyway, anything extra is just a bonus for me, although saying that makes me seem like a hypocrit since I have a PS4 Pro too lol, although to be fair, my dad offered to buy my original PS4 for £150, so I got my Pro for only £170, about half price at the time, lol.

I'm kind of in the same boat, the original ps4 games are fine for my taste, but I also have a Pro. I really wanted to give my brother a ps4 for Christmas last year, so I gave him mine and picked up a Pro. Whenever I watch comparison videos on Candyland or other sites, however, I usually have a hard time picking out the differences. It's only when someone like DF stops, enhances and zooms in that I really notice the difference in quality.

That ram is mainly what's causing the big difference.

Halo MCC will sell 5+ million copies(including digital)

halo 5 will sell 10 million copies(including digital)

x1 will pass ps4 in USA, and UK.

Really hoping companies go with Ryzen with the next round of consoles.

Yeah, whenever I watch comparison videos the most noticeable thing to me for the 30fps games is how much smoother they look at 60fps on the pc.

It certainly looks much better to the naked eye than we saw early this gen when 720p-900p was unacceptable and trash compared to 1080p.

I'm glad they added an option to prioritize resolution or not. I hope more companies do that.

I always thought the point of that was to have an option prioritising framerate, yet they're all locked 30fps.
