Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Nintendo has numerous million sellers this year, but none are on 3DS.

Are you sure about that?

Dragon Quest XI sold 1,72 milion, Monster Hunter XX sold 1,61 million, both were launched this year. And Pokemon Sun/Moon sold more than 02 million copies this year too (12+ millions in 2016). There are still two potential millions sellers: Metroid and Pokemon Ultra Sun/Moon. The 3ds year may still end with 05 or even 06 million sellers, if Fire Emblem Warriors also sell well (something that I doubt).

Still, it´s true that although this year has been great for the 3ds in terms of quality, most of the games did not got so much attention from its owners. I belive that the reasons are: 1 - Few main titles from the most popular franchises (too many spin-offs) and 2 - the huge hype around the Switch.

Because there are so many other games to buy.

3ds has monster hunter stories, one of my favorite games of the year, but i see your point.3ds is slowly dying, its kinda of inevitable.

Ever Oasis is really good. I wish it had done better. Deserves at least 600k.

The 3DS got a lot of great games recently which I didn't bought because of the Switch :/

I actually planed on buying the latest Fire Emblem, Ever Oasis, Monster Hunter Stories and Mario & Luigi. Got Metroid, though. But I am way too occupied with Switch and PC.....

I also don't want to go back to 3ds.  ..wish they would port the games to switch.

I would kill someone just to have MH stories on switch. Its the first game in years that uses the pokemon formula in a unique way.But it runs like absolute shit on a base 3ds.

I only tried the demo on the new 3ds...doesn't run much better I guess.

Pokemon S/M sold over a million units in 2017. Actually, it'll sell over 2,5.

Bet with PeH:

I win if Arms sells over 700 000 units worldwide by the end of 2017.

Bet with WagnerPaiva:

I win if Emmanuel Macron wins the french presidential election May 7th 2017.

So far this year I've bought Pokemon Sun, Dragon Quest VIII, Story of Seasons: Trio of Towns, FE Echoes, Miitopia, Ever Oasis, Etrian Odyssey V, Layton's Mystery Journey and Monster Hunter Stories, and I'm far from done with the 3DS. Then again, right now I've little to no interest in the Switch, and since the Wii U is dead (only bought BotW for it) the 3DS pretty much became my main gaming system.

Miitopia seemed like a sure thing. Maybe a lot of 3DS owners "graduated" to the Switch? It's hard to go back after the upgrade. The Christmas season will likely be good to at least a few of these series, too.
