This isn't crazy. HIV really isn't the problem because most people are on meds or prep (if you are having risky raw sex). The problem is things like chlamydia, syphilis, and gonorrhea which run absolutely rampant. And they are on the rise this apps like Grinder and Tender. And there is no law tell you to say if you have those things.

If you are upset about the HIV thing, you really don't know what actually going on. Talk to a doctor before you get on here bashing California. Understand why it was a law in the first place before you speak about something you don't know.

So because there's other diseases that aren't treated as a crime if you intentionally give someone them this one shouldn't be either?

Yes.  There is no point in singling out HIV unless you are going to go after them all.  Your logic is backwards. There is no reason to go after HIV exclusively.  Of course then there are gonna be people who don't know where to stop and we will see people suing over pink eye.  Be responsible.  Protect yourself if you are going to engage in risky activity becasue these are the realities.   I'm all for wild crazy sex, but I am also for personal responsibilties.  Otherwise you have to explain why someone should get away with giving someone herpies.

The GAF thread on this is downright disgusting. Multiple people in there saying it's ok to not tell people because the chances of getting HIV from a person taking treatment is "practically zero" or whatever technical speak the CDC said on the matter. Plus, hey, you know, it doesn't kill you any more*!

* - so long as you can afford the "HIV cocktail" you have to take daily without missing doses. oh, and I hope the drugs work on you, there aren't many alternatives. oh and I hope you like frequent doctor visits to make sure your viral load stays low.

And the problem is they are right.  It is many many (like thousands) of time more likely to get other STDs if your partner is treated.  The problem is, if we are not gonna have legislation of stuff you can get from someone who does it intentionally, I don't want to hear people complain about HIV. Protect yourselves people.

No, ending discrimination is a good intention. Yet, this is misguided, as i repeatidly said.

I'm sorry but you are full of the proverbial BS. Not even worth continuing this.

You are pushing an agenda and picking and choosing what interests you. That BS might run with some of your American buddies but it sure won't with an european.

uh huh. You might want to step out of your little bubble and see what reality is like.

I think you are the one on your little american bubble. I have visited, worked and lived in different countries. Europeans are smarter than to fall for your conservative mumbo jumbo meant to push outdated agendas and hold back progress. Have fun doing that over there. The rest of us will move on and wave at you from behind.

I don't know why you're taking this so personally. i was knocking progressivism for not being progressive but rather regressive with this kind of stuff. This kind of dumb shit policy came into being in California which is the greatest haven of democrats and progressivism. It's their literal baby. Unless you're a progressive from California then you should have no issue with my comments and I don't see what Europeans have got to do with this unless their countries are doing this kind of dumb shit too.

Ugh. Conservative nuts are going to peg this to the same-sex marriage debate in Australia.
Could you yanks at-least have left it for another month or so? D:

LMAO.

If you're going about Conservatives being crazy about this shit then you're looking at the wrong way. This is about questioning the ethical concept behind this. I mean fuck it, if you do have a cold and you took a sip out of my drink best be damn sure you tell me or you're deliberately fucking me over. If you're oblivious about having a cold, fine I'll let it slip. Having full knowledge about there being something wrong, that's a whole set of issue.

And again, it boggles me that something so petty as pronoun misuse is much more punishing than spreading a damn disease. But I guess that's more Progressive in the eyes of a fucking liberal.

TBH though, that region has their fair share of dumb shit. So I don't think they're going to see this any other way  and push their own personal "Morals" as the only set of standards for real progress.

Theres a law here that looks weird at face value. It may be a bad idea, and i have already said that it's well intended but too radical. What i have a problem with is you coming here and pushing your personal political agenda over it.

There is a discrimination problem and we shoud try to understand how this is atempting to fix it and how others will be protected aswell. It can be an important step it can be debated and gone about in a better way. It's not about your misguided democrat vs republican debate and what constitutes progress. This is a very courageous move and i would like to see more explanations on the rationale for this.

Progress is coming together and debating issues to find a common way forward. "Derp dems" and closing off debate is what isn't progress.

I am not justifying this. Any of this.

The USA didn't have the debate we are currently having here, the conservatives are pegging anything and everything to same-sex marriage, even when it has nothing to do with same-sex marriage.

Honestly, sometimes I can't blame them getting very paranoid.

I mean what the fuck is this?

https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/boy-scouts-will-admit-girls-allow-them-earn-eagle-scout-n809836

It's in a lot of news channels right now and people the ones who supported this says it's a big win for equality and righteous path to progressiveness. FUCK THIS.
