If they could sell every copy for $60 they'd be fine. The issue is most games aren't valued that much by many consumers. Right now you can get Mass Effect: Andromeda Deluxe Edition for $13.71 on Amazon. That is a major AAA title released six months ago going for clearance level price. If it started at $60, $80, or $100 wouldn't change the fact that the price collapses if people don't want it.

That ship had sailed. Knowing how many publishers are, they would just double dip and charge 80 bucks with the same DLC practices as before.
