Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Help using a controller to play AM2R on Mac

I'm driving myself crazy. This is why I typically don't play games on PC - typically they don't just work. I have every modern controller, and I have AM2R running. Anyone know how to get it to recognize any of my controllers?

Wii U Pro, Switch Pro, DS4, DS3, XBO, Steam, etc.

You're using a Mac dude.

A Mac

Anyways, as I just learned today, you can plug in an XBO controller to the USB of your computer! It will then work perfectly for games! But I have Windows 10 and it might not work on Mac.

Good idea is to ask wherever you got the unofficial mac wrapper for this Windows game from.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Mac =/= Typical PC

Are you running windows via bootcamp or trying to run games from Steam version of mac?

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

I don't understand your problem. You can't pair a controller to your Mac or you can't get it to work in game?

P.S. I've never had a problems connecting Wiimote, Xbox One controller or DS4 to my Macbook. But I used them most of the time to play OpenEmu.

I've been all over reddit. This is not just a mac thing. I'm not sure if it's the same for a Mac. I have the 2016 macbook with only USBC ports though. I have an adapter, so I'll see if it works.

It was uploaded on reddit. I'm not making a reddit account just to ask a question like this.

Wineskin wrapper. There's nothing wrong with the game.

The problem is the game itself. My mac runs the game perfectly and my mac recognizes my controllers perfectly on other games/emulators. I know because I was literally just playing one last night with no issue. The game itself won't connect to my controllers.

I remember i used my wired Xbox 360 controller worked & on my Macbook Pro late 2013 with a third party software(i googled it), Switch Pro, DS4 and Xbox One(with bluetooth) can connect to MacBook via Bluetooth.

P.S Wineskin FTW xD

For a lot of PC games/emulators that don't support controllers, I use Joy2Key (which maps controller buttons to the keyboard).

Apparently http://joystickmapper.com/ is the Mac equivalent.

Did it work for AM2R though. my mac isn't the issue.

Hmm, it seems like you've contradicted yourself? You say you don't play games on PC because they don't work, but then later on you go to say how it's isolated to this game, because other emulators and games worked.
