Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Rumor: Doom release date leaked as December 13

Still shocked that games like Doom and the new Wolfenstein will be making an appearance on Nintendo's latest console. Maybe Nintendo is getting the hint that 3rd party developers are a must in this day and age for a console to thrive.

Switch is becoming quite bizarre platform for Nintendo, Mario and Doom on the same platform for the first time since the SNES but a holiday season of Odyssey, Skyrim RE, FE Warriors, Xenoblade 2, Doom Reboot and Zelda DLC.

That line up is very unorthodox for their platforms, Bethesda really want that potential gold mine of establishing themselves in the userbase hope they manage it tbh.

Uh, Doom 64 was a thing :P

Don't forget about Doom 64, perhaps the best classic Doom game ever made!

Is Doom the "unannounced" title from Bethesda that was supposed to release this year?

I'm surprised they didn't try to get it out there in November though since I feel like most games will sell better during that time once the holiday sales start during Thanksgiving and people will be desperately hunting for Switches (like they have since it launched) and looking for games to bundle with it as a gift.

This is just a rumor though, could still be october or november.

Skyrim is out then it may be that they don't want Doom and Skyrim competiting against each other.

True, I thought about that as well. The games are pretty different though, but yeah Bethesda probably doesn't wanna put them both in the same month since one might take away from the other possibly.

Mario Odissey + Doom, sound like a great red christmas duo.

Yup, at end of year Switch will have very interesting games, on one had it will have Zelda BotW, MK8D, Splatoon 2, Mario Odyssey and Xenoblade 2, and on other hand it will have Fifa, NBA 2K, Rocket League, Skyrim and Doom.

They are quite different games, and most likely they started to work on Doom later than they did on Skyrim.
