Forums - Politics Discussion - World gone mad: Father's Day ads pulled from TV for being too 'political'

gay men generally don't have children for obvious reasons so how in the fuck could heterosexual couples not be the norm with regards to having children?

well it all boils down to the retarded nonsense that equality across all avenues must be achieved for mankind

What's anti-gay in the ads though?

the issue isn't about it being anti gay it's more to do with where it sits in this time of political ads being broadcast for the marriage debate ,so the channel decided to try to clear it up, because the govt failed to put into place advertising criteria for their second or some would argue  third  best solution.

So, it's not anti-gay and not political, so what is the issue?

People might mistake the dads for heterosexuals, which is inherently discrimatory to homosexuals.

The issue is it not defined, the original would have been covered by the electrol act in regards to adverising , the dept of statstics isn't covered by those laws so in the govt wanting to get this off the agenda they rushed this out without putting in any advertising guidlines , so instead we had a network trying to decide what constitutes a political message something that the agency incharge should have been empowered to do.

Research shows Video games  help make you smarter, so why am I an idiot

I don't really understand the point of that group. Are they providing spare dads for people who have none? Yeah, some dads are great, some dads are shit and some people don't have one, so what exactly is that group promoting here because it seems like a pretty one sided and stupid message.

That ad shouldn't be pulled because it's political but because it's stupid.

well... since only heterosexual relationships produce children, its kind of obvious why that would be generally viewed as the default position for fathers and mothers

obviously homosexuals can adopt... but that is an outlier situation and obviously wouldn't be viewed as a the general situation
