Why does the X1X needs a launch title? Its just a more powerful X1, its not an X2. Its already got a good line up that will benefit the X.

Yeah, it was the same with the PS4 Pro... what was its big exclusive launch title in Q4 2016?

These consoles are just options to the standard models, mainly targeted to people with 4K-TVs (or a PSVR headset).

I am glad i am not the only one that thinks this. Its not like it hasnt got games coming out or that are already out utilising the hardware at launch.

Some reason gamers are treating these hardware upgrades as next gen systems. If that was the case than id expect new games.

Honestly it is a great online brand that's only had a handful of stable titles spanning three generations. No honest dedication to creativity and brand growth for games. All they care about is the OS and windows. I would feel much safer knowing Xbox was in the hands of a brand who gives a damn about developing games. Honestly, Microsoft should sell the Xbox to Apple. They took halo from them so it would be interesting to see what gaming would look like from apples perspective. If not them then Samsung.

That's like one of the worst ideas ever. All Apple cares about in terms of gaming is some free-to-pay mobile games. iOS was the platform that popularised this business model in gaming. And I don't really see that changing. I doubt that Apple will suddenly start to care about big AAA games. Because they have all the resources for it right now if they wanted to. They don't need to buy Xbox at all. Their Apple TV is capable of running games at the same level of graphics as Nintendo Switch for example. They just don't care about this indusrty at all.

The only thing they can achieve if Microsoft sells Xbox to them is popularise this kind of business model on the console platforms. And that will be a disaster for gaming industry.

I think it's disingenuous to say that Microsoft doesn't care about Xbox.

To say that Microsoft doesn't care about Xbox hardware is another story. And you can see this with a lot of the other hardware they've put out in the recent past (shoutout to the Band and Lumia line).

If they could move every Xbox owner over to a Windows 10 PC environment playing Xbox games exclusively through the Windows Store, I'm sure they'd be all over that. In a scenario like that, I don't think Amazon could do better.

While I agree that the latest MS decisions make me think the same way, this is not gonna happen in the near future even if MS wants to get rid of dedicated gaming hardware. The problem is that PC is an open platform while Xbox isn't. Microsoft gets revenue from every game sold on Xbox. On PC, especially if we talk about Windows Store, there is almost zero third party games. So even if for example some Xbox owner will move to Windows 10 PC he wouldn't even be able to buy the same games that he bought on Xbox on Windows Store. Which will end up in buying this game on Steam. I really doubt that Microsoft wants to throw a big piece of their cash revenue to Valve with this move.

MS this gen won't be able to go head to head with Sony. The PS4 has a huge lead and there's no way the XBO is catching up. If MS were to sell the Xbox brand to Amazon that isn't changing, they would still be way behind in sales compared to the PS4. Xbox is doing good and making a profit for Microsoft so I don't see why they would sell it anyway.

Not sure if we can even say Xbox is doing good anymore. If it's true it sold less than 100k in July in the US then it can't have even done 200k world wide. The PS4 routinely does a million a month at least. The 360 was easily more than doubling what the Xbox One's doing now in it's best years.

The Xbox One was doing well at a point, it was keeping to a 2:1 ratio with the PS4, but now it's fell well behind and it's underperforming even for an Xbox console.

Simple answer is no. People already were worried about Kinect spying on them. What do you think Amazon would want to do? They would install stupid ass Alexa and spy on you 24/7.

Amazon has little to no experience in video games and no matter how many studios they buy they will most likely end up like Rare.  They might as well call it the Pippin 2 because it would be like Apple trying to get back into the dedicated video game market again.
