They just overshipped it and people aren't buying as much as they expected.

Do Nintendo overship or undersuplly? Can you guys get to a concensus?

What are you talking about? You're comparing a library of software with physical copies of a single game.

So, looking at the numbers in the OP, Nintendo made 58% of their profit from mobile. Looks like that's the segment that they need to invest in more.

I agree, they should focus more on mobile games.

Also konami was right in focusing only on pachinko machines since it is more profitable to them.

RDR2 should be online-centric with a lot of microtransactions, with not as much effort put into the story and no single-player dlc, bacause the margin of profit will be higher.

Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

According to what source exactly? You've so far mentioned 3 countries to try and suggest the sales aren't high when we have the whole WW to consider at this point he's right it's simple denial on your part.

The only region we don't have numbers for is Europe. Unless it sold way, way more in Europe than in NA and Japan combined, the game does not come close to the shipped numbers.

No mate we just have US numbers as NPD only covers US not the whole of NA (which means in US alone Arms moved 256k plus digital), Japan and UK, your logic straight up tries to ignore the whole PAL region which is Europe (which has large regions like Germany, France, Spain etc...), Southern Africa and Oceania (aka Australia), the rest of NA, and rest of the world regions like South America and Asia. This is all before we factor in digital, right now you have no actual substance.

If we look at US and Japan numbers alone it's a combined 427k alone from these 2 countries almost half of the total sales.

Nintendo kicking some serious butt selling out as fast as they can make them even after months! Though obviously could be wayyyyy higher if they could actually meet demand. Arms is killing it was more than I would have ever expected. These sales plus the monster FW Splatoon sales means huge positive outlook going forward if Nintendo can actually double production like they wanted to. Just an insane amount of unmet demand for Switches.

Anyone with a basic understanding of math can see that mobile and other IP-related ventures accounted for a mere 5.9% of Nintendo's income this quarter.

New Super Mario Bros. 2 finally pulls ahead of Super Mario 3D Land.

That's the only real story here.

I'm looking at the profit numbers in the OP. What are you looking at?

You are wrong. The number listed for smartphones is revenue for said segment, and it includes IP-related royalty income as well.

I'm adding up the Pokemon Go profit to the smart device one.

Unless the numbers I found are incorrect, XY is within 70.000 units of Ruby and Sapphire (original obviously)...
That's pretty nice...

Have a nice day...

good numbers, hope it may continue. I still wanted to know the big IPs for year 2 and 3 for the switch.
