And guess what he gets? Oh right people clicking his video for ADS. His video is clickbait. It was designed to get people to click it. You don't have to copy that.  You should have given an actual title with your actual thoughts instead of copying his title, and his video.

Assuming you aren't actually this person. You don't need to do his job for him.

Etika is just having fun, there is a difference sometimes. I mean look at the dislike ratio, if it was like actually serious clickbait at an atempt to purposefully exploit people it would be a lot different. He's just using a hperbole to entertain, it's just how Etika is. He's known for his over exaggeration and overreactions.

Sure he didn't technially sue Sony and he only got $25 was what the joke was and what made the video so funny. Like there are people who go out there way to properly use lies to get their attraction, and theirs just goofing around.

But I get where your coming from, you'd probably need to be more aware of Etika and his fanbase to understand more about his youtube channel's style. But I don't think any harm was done. Like it's hard to explain, it's just kind of his personality rather than having dark intentions. I mean yeah sure it was probably a little clickbait but there is much worse forms of clickbait out there.

Dude, don't even try to expalin it. Ekita isn't your average youtuber. Unless they really know his personality they're going to judge regardless. Don't wast your time man.

The thing is - I'm not judging ekita. I'm judging the thread. It has a copy paste click bait title instead of a descriptive one.

Who is Etika? Sued Sony for what? Won what? A random youtuber joined a class action lawsuit for easy money.

And what was the post? A random video. No explanation, no description, no thoughts on the video. Until three minutes later when it was "bumped" for attention.

It failed as a thread in every possible way.

Well sure, I can understand where you're coming from. The thread could be a bit more..."thready" but this thread was made to appeal to his fanbase. Most of us got it by the thread title alone. He's also like the most popular streamer on Youtube Gaming so he's kinda big. Which yeah, I can understand that not everybody knows him and more info could be present. But if a thread really pisses me off, I don't even bother to post there.

Yet not everyone watches youtube or even knows youtube "famous" people.  Hell I believe the only person I know is that pewdiepie douchebag which isn't saying much because even South Park made fun of his ass. So more info in the op would have been nice.  Here is what it should have stated at the very least.

Youtube Etika talks about getting 25 dollars from a class action lawsuit involving Sony's false advertised the 3G aspects of the Vita.

Takes about 10 secs to type that out which would have fleshed the op out a lot more than just a link to some video.

I doubt the intent of this post was advertising. It's just your typical VGC trash tier thread opener.

Yes. A better title and a simple description in the OP and boom this entire thread is golden.

"Youtube Etika talks about getting 25 dollars from a class action lawsuit involving Sony's false advertised the 3G aspects of the Vita. " is a fantastic description by the way. It get tells you who Etika is. It explains that "sues sony" is part of a class action law suit. And what that lawsuit is about.

He also demonstrates that black people are better dancers at the end of the video.

Vita ads were a mistake lol.

Here's a summary of the Vita lawsuit from the FTC. - https://www.ftc.gov/news-events/press-releases/2014/11/sony-computer-entertainment-america-provide-consumer-refunds

Sony Computer Entertainment America (“Sony”) has agreed to settle Federal Trade Commission charges that it deceived consumers with false advertising claims about the “game changing” technological features of its PlayStation Vita handheld gaming console during its U.S. launch campaign in late 2011 and early 2012.

As part of its settlement with the FTC, Sony is barred from making similarly misleading advertising claims in the future, and will provide consumers who bought a PS Vita gaming console before June 1, 2012, either a $25 cash or credit refund, or a $50 merchandise voucher for select video games, and/or services. Sony will provide notice via email to consumers who are eligible for redress after the settlement is finalized by the Commission.

Here's a summary of the PS3 "Other OS" lawsuit . - http://www.otherossettlement.com/

A proposed Settlement has been reached in a class action lawsuit against Sony Computer Entertainment America LLC (“SCEA”) challenging the issuance of a firmware update to disable the “Other OS” functionality from PlayStation® 3 “Fat” model computer entertainment consoles (“Fat PS3s”). The Other OS function enabled users to run Linux as an alternative operating system on Fat PS3s. SCEA denies that it did anything wrong. The Court has not decided who is right in the lawsuit.

Class Members who submit a claim with the required proof of purchase and proof of use of the Other OS feature are entitled to receive $55. Class Members who submit a claim with proof of purchase and attest that they intended to use the Other OS function, lost value or desired functionality, or believe they were otherwise injured are entitled to receive $9.

Bad guy Sony sued big time! Was just thinking it's been a while since they were sued.

Well that money is probably just going into Sony's debt, and Sony will probably never pay off their enormous debt

I didn't watch the video but I do remember the class action suit and the fact that I was supposed to get since credit for being an early Vita owner. Never got my email! And I was one of the first people to call out that misleading ad! My thread is still here on Vgchatz.
