No BC now that digital is quite a thing would be criminal and unacceptable.

Tell that to the IP holders.

It is a shame that PC games are limited by consoles...
But it will likely remain that way for another generation or two.

Star Citizen is not limited by consoles

it will take another generation or two for it to release though

But 95% of AAA titles are, that is the issue.

And most AAA sales happen on console, what's your point?

240 fps?! Utter nonsense.

I fully expect a mix of 30 and 60 depending on the game. People, as a collective, value fidelity over frame rate.

Nothing will exceed 120fps on home consoles because TVs don't run at higher than that (anything advertising 240hz is actually advertising their made up motion rate).

Games should be art.
We wouldn't stop using the colour red in paintings because ~ 60% - 80% of people cannot see red.
We should always push the limits of the medium, that means maxing out the games on PC.

Michael Pachter is wrong tho. Specially on the launch date. Its not gonna come out anytime prior to 2021.

And art isn't about maxing out the graphics. It's about presenting something that evokes an emotion. If you can't have an emotion evoked because the graphics aren't good enough or because 30fps burns your eyes, then guess what? You're the guy who can't see red.

Pc games are limited by pc gaming sales:

https://www.gamereactor.eu/news/317394/Witcher+3+made+possible+thanks+to+the+consoles/

Thanks to consoles Japan gave us amazing single player franchises when in other Asian countries dominated by pc the only games being created are f2p multiplayer games.

Consoles gave us the concept of generations which is far better organized and nostalgic than this open market mess that is on PC.

I hate it when people give consoles no credit whatsoever.

?? shouldnt be a factor.

Is it for the console provider and its audience if the IP holders withhold titles due to rights.
