Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Your Hero’s Path in BotW

I've just seen it, and I was surprised at how much do I have to explore yet XD

This kind of thing should not be stuck behind a paywall. This is the sort of feature that it generally added to a game for free in the months after release.

Agreed, it'd be nice as a free feature. It's a neat tool for everyone who wants to keep exploring Hyrule. I get that the other content is behind a paywall, but Hero's Path is a bit too much

The game was too good to break immersion with teleportation. I preferred doing what was in front of me instead of focussing on the to do list (aka quest list) and avoid backtracking. It took me 170 hours! Wandering around felt like a real adventure. I did barely make it over the Gerudo mountains early in the game when I ran out of frost protection food. Link 'fainted' a few times before finally getting to jump off the mountain range towards Hebra.

That's an impressive feat mate! I couldn't imagine myself not teleporting constantly especially when it came time to restock on arrows.

Well I finished Ocarina first, but I pretty much played all of Windwaker and stopped at the Triforce quest, so more like I've played 3 3D Zeldas.

Twilight Princess would be nice to play.

You still haven't played the best (besides BotW that is), so keep working.

I don't have a system to play it on tho ...

I got very conservative with arrows, didn't really use them unless asolutely neccesary. I ended the game with well over 500 arrows in stock lol. When I finally used arrows I always used the 5x shot Lynel bows, still only takes one arrow.

My biggest problem was the weapon durability with only 8 inventory slots. I didn't end up at Koriko village until 80 hours in. Then it took another 50 hours to run in to the guy again. I had over 200 Korok seeds, yet never ran into him. 8 inventory slots and weapons that break after 1 or 2 fights was annoying. One Lynel fight could leave me with just his unwieldy club for the next fight.

If I purchase the dlc for wii u do I need to repurchase for switch? I know I will have to buy a new physical copy of the game. But what about the dlc?

Damn. My brother got me a 20 Nintendo gift card for my birthday specifically to buy the dlc. Was going to get a switch later this year for Mario and was hoping to double dip. I figured it was wishful thinking.

Oh well it's only 20 bucks.

Thanks for the reply

I don't.

The only thing that I can understand being locked behind a paywall in this DLC is the Trial of the Sword, which was the only piece of genuinely new content - and even then, it felt more like a complement to the original game (as in, something that was lacking before) than a completely new and original thing.

Master Mode is cool, but from what I played so far it seems like not enough has changed to justify having to pay for it, and the other stuff is not even worth talking about. I guess the fanservice stuff (like Midna's helmet or Tingle's clothes) could be microtransactions, though to be honest I don't know if I'd consider that better or worse than as is now.

That is to say, I'm not disappointed with my purchase, because I enjoyed Trial of the Sword and I'm enjoying Master Mode - I just hope the 2nd pack has more content, because even if the "new story and dungeon" are great, I'm going to be pissed if I beat it in one night.

Damn, I forgot about Hero Mode. That definitely shouldn't be behind a paywall, you're right. Trial of the Sword and those little quests to search new gear... I'm fine with them being behind a paywall. Buy, yeah, pack one is a bit barebones, I hope that pack 2 will have more content.

Yes - same for me.... west of koroko Forest was completely untouched for me.

And thinking that I have all shrines, 200 seeds all side quests....

how bizarre... well let's finish those seeds... pretty sure... a few are there

Switch!!!
