Speaking with the page "the Telegraph", Sony Interactive Entertainment’s Shawn Layden commented:

"My philosophy is to play to my strengths. And if you look at the studios we have – Naughty Dog, Guerrilla, Santa Monica Studios, Japan Studios – that’s what we do well. We do story. We create characters. I was so gratified to see the response to Horizon’s Aloy when she showed up on the screen and the crowd went wild. Those are the kind of things we do well. It’s what we’re known for. It really speaks to our entertainment DNA. We wish to entertain. We wish to make you happy. We wish to make you cry. That whole range of emotions we can pluck at to make you have a great experience. Games as a service? We have a bit of that with our MLB The Show – it’s got the same virtual currency a lot of sports have – and we have other titles that come up that play in that space. But if you want to make a big generalisation about what does Worldwide Studios do? We’re big on character. We’re big on story."

And he says.. on the PlayStation 4 not only are the multiplayer-games important. Both (Single-and Multiplayers) are good for the players to have a great selection of games. Thanks to the players who support us so much. Many Sony studios are working on big projects. My thoughts / comment: My passion are also singleplayer games with great gameplay, interesting characters and a good story :) For this reason, I play videogames and am happy to be a gamer.

Your thoughts on the subject (singleplayer-and good story-games) ?

The PS5 Exists.

Yeah, I prefer single-player/story-based games much more than multiplayer games too. Maybe it's because I don't have any friends, but I always gravitate towards the SP over the MP.

Same here. Overwatch has kept my interest for a long time though so I do get into that every now and then.

I never played Overwatch myself. I guess I have played quite a bit of MP on Mario Kart 8, though that's probably because the online is free right now.

It means that even games like Spider-man will have an amazing story. I really like this direction they're taking. It's the first time i'm interested in a God of War story.

So true and I love it.

There's plenty of 'services' that release every year by third parties that you can get on PS4 Fifa, NBA, Madden, Battlefield, Cod, Destiny (or expansions) etc etc etc no need to add to that.

There's only 2 races: White and 'Political Agenda'
2 Genders: Male and 'Political Agenda'
2 Hairstyles for female characters: Long and 'Political Agenda'
2 Sexualities: Straight and 'Political Agenda'

This is the main reason I'm slowly drifting away from PlayStation. Sony's focus on character, emotion, and storytelling is at an all-time high and my investment at an all-time low.

I'm glad there are folks out there whose needs are being met by Sony's current design philosophy. Diversity in the industry is a great thing, and not every platform needs to offer the same kinds of gaming experiences.

But, selfishly, I wish PlayStation would retreat from its cinematic ambitions.

And this is one of the reason I enjoy PlayStation more than xbox. Sony is better at creating those games than MS.

Could/t disagree more. One has to find its place and for Playstation it is singleplayer games. Nintendo does funfunfun games, MS doin dudebro games, the rest doin all them FPS,MMO etc.

I could only wish they would make more games based on anime  on PS4, but I know its not bussines wise.
