lets see....

Racing
3D Platformer
2D Platformer
JRPG
Western RPG
Sports
Open-World
Shooter
Sandbox
Fighting

i think thats most of the big ones. unless you want to be picky, the only genre were missing really is the Party game genre. now THAT is ironic. Nintendo use to be known as the party game kings. guess we'll just have to wait and see what Mario Party looks like on the Switch

What about 1-2-Switch? I think it's a party game.

oh right. forgot about that. i suppose it counts but it hardly qualifies as what I would consider a party game.

RTS?

Yes! We really need Pikmin 4 soon. <3

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

Well, the big genres we have it all, but maybe we need some specifics:

-I need my 4 player minigames party game, a la wii party U.
I still need to bring my wii U to girlfriend house, she always asks for it.

-Also, she is playing beyond two souls and is loving it, after played life is strange and loved it. I think she has a new favority genre. And it is still missing on switch.

-A sports collection game like wii sports or 3DS's mario sports superstars would be welcome too.

-Racing sim. Or need for speed or forza horizon like game.

-First person shooter

Waifu simulator................oh wait, I forgot Fire Emblem exists

:P

The Switch is lacking some good horror titles!

The Metroid series was inspired by the Alien series. Just imagine how amazing it would be if Nintendo decided to incorporate more horror elements. I remember Metroid Fusion and Metroid Prime 2: Echoes having some excellent horror elements. If they expanded upon those elements that would be amazing.

well it is kind of missing a serious first person shooter (i.e. a Wolfenstein, Doom, Counter Strike, etc. sort of thing). But still. also totally agreed with someone who mentioned horror.

although realistically some of these genres have sporadic releases and any young console might have them, particularly a console aimed more at casuals and families

genres I hope get good coverage in the future: party (Mario Party finally having another good game? its been foreverrrrr. Smash? Monkey Ball? would die for a Monkey Ball party game),  sports (a tennis game on the Switch? a Mario golf game? I don't know), more turn based stuff (hardly anything at the moment).

I saw someone mention racers but Fast RMX is pretty good, maybe a more realistic one would be fun though.

Let's not be too rough though, its a younggg console to expect it to have coverage over all the genres. ironically though, given its a Nintendo console, at this point I'd say one of the weaker points of the Switch is 3D Platformers. THere are like none so far (speaking of, was a Yooka Laylee Switch launch time period ever announced?)

"You should be banned. Youre clearly flaming the president and even his brother who you know nothing about. Dont be such a partisan hack"

For me,
FPS
Rts
Horror
3D platformer
Sports sim
Racing Sim
3rd person Action Adventure

a fps maybe? we already know that Payday 2 will be coming to switch this fall but its a old game, we need something better than that, maybe cod mw1 remaster, borderlands 3, or something like this.
