Read the manga! Also, watch the 'Bardock: Father of Goku' and 'History of Trunks' TV specials. Then check out the Super manga (watching Battle of the Gods and Resurrection F movies, the manga just assumes you've seen them). The early stuff will hook you, and then watching the characters grow will keep you glued to it.
The best character for the best episode in the best anime.

Dragon Ball Z was easier to get into when I was younger. If I would have started it now, I would just go on youtube and watch fights and just skip episodes.
I'm going to be honest and say I only started watching Super because of #17 returning. Frieza never caught on to me, prefer Cell.

I probably watched an episode or 2 of it...like over a decade ago. Probably even longer. It's one of the first anime I ever knew, but I never really watched that much of it.
Just watched the episode. Frieza is definitely the savagest anime villain.

The first two season we're just bloody recaps and ever since it's just been an elaborate ad to sell Merchandise. DBZ power scaling has always been questionable but in super it doesn't even exist. Might as well called this show the adventure of Goku and Vegeta, everyone else has become a background character.
GT was better and GT WAS SHIT.
Frieza always been my favorite. It's about time they give him justice.
