Koizumi kinda semi-confirmed Donkey Kong in SMO when asked during the Treehouse. He was wearing a Donkey Kong t-shirt and when asked about the shirt and all the Kong-related signs in New Donk City he said they would talk about it later.

Interestingly this would also correspond with a Youtube video posted the other day from the Game Theorists.

As much as I was loving the gameplay in the trailer, I only marked out at seeing Pauline. I'm expecting a cameo as another throwback reference to DK so I'll be pleasantly surprised if she's more involved. I'm also trying not to get ahead of myself in hoping she appears in Mario Party and gets her own amiibo.
