In the recent past, Microsoft turned down shared servers with Playstation/PC in regards to at least two different games that we know of.  That's why it's confusing.

Plain sucks at this point, I highly doubt them allowing this would hamper their sales in any way, you're just fracturing the player base.

Yoshida (FF14's director) has previously said that FF14's absence from the X1 was down to MS, not Sony. Apparently there's something about MS's cross-play regulations (at least as of last year) that have made things difficult for SE, despite them actively trying to get the game on the platform.

MS having since changed their policy seems like a probable explanation for half, but it still leaves questions about why Sony didn't care with FF14. Maybe they've also changed their policy since then? I dunno.

Sony doesn't need to do it, they have a 60 million userbase, vs 33 millions (xbone and NS combined), so it would be stupid to give your opponents this advantage. And i don't care at all because there are a lot of players in rocket league or any other game for an fast online play on ps4. So yeah, you can scream as loud as you want to, nobody cares at all besides some hard-core fans from forums.
Also, why don't Microsoft make their games for ps4 ? I want to play Forza Horizon, bui i don't want to buy a xbone, i want to play it on my ps4, that's unfair, they are arrogant etc (this is sarcasm, btw)
