Forums - Website Topics - VGC's stance on Thread Quality and Enforcement

Of note is the fact that this thread seemingly hasn't reached much of the audience that most needs to read it. Unsurprising.

Well, some of the users here seem to have been pretty hostile towards these ideas, are those who you're referring to?

Some of mods are cool. Some suck, that's life

I am not with you on double posts. Not every device is a top end PC and vgc is very heavy. Forums like mmo-champion actually have it built in that if the same person posts twice, it gets automatically edited in their previous post. This allows you to quick post the posts that catch your atention without having to load and reload the edit page and copying the whole quote back and forth.

It's a huge pain and the best thing would be for it to be built into the code like that. If that doesn't happen, i think you just need to be patient and understand the situation.

I want to also add that thread creation is the lifeblood for forums. If theres no topics, theres no posts and therefore no discussion or activity. It's good to enforce the rules, but it can't be too tightening to the point that people don't create threads because they are afraid it will break some bizarre standard.

AKA... i think you are taking this too seriously, and i think the mods do take action when things get too much.

I have an issue with people doing nothing but post articles. Yes you can post articles, but if you're going to create a thread about it you should also have some personal input.

Discuss what you think of the article, instead of just spamming threads with positive news about your favourite console and then just leaving.

This is something i remember standing up for in the past, and i think is the most important thing.

We don't need echo chambers. This is a board and people come here and should come here to post their opinions, not to parrot others.

Hmm, now it's become a guessing game! There are currently 15 mods, I wonder which are the cool guys and which aren't.
