What would make you buy a Scorpio at launch?

Forums - Gaming Discussion - What would make you buy a Scorpio at launch?

doubt anything could make me interested in it to be honest.

I'm already getting it when it launches for the following reasons:

-Didn't get Xbox1, looking forward to opening up a new library (though admittedly I often choose PC versions over console versions)

-I want to scratch that native 4k gaming itch to properly put my new TV to use, and outputting from the PC to the TV would lead to far too much input lag (one of the reasons that PC monitors are so gd expensive while being much smaller than TV's)

-Much like when I got the PS2 for DVDs and OG PS3 for Bluray, I still need a 4k player and it just makes sense to get the Scorpio.

-I'm legitimately looking forward to some of their upcoming exclusives, even if they're still a ways out.

-It will be my new "main console", which is to say the one I choose for all 3rd party multiplat games (though with some I might go with the Switch port if available).

Basically, the value of this console will vary from person to person. If most of that list doesn't appeal to you, then it's not worth getting, but if you agree with all of those points, the Scorpio is a solid deal so long as it stays under $600.

Would take a miracle or a death threat. A bump up in graphical fidelity for western multiplats means absolutely nothing to me.

Someone handing me a wad of cash and saying "this wad of cash can only be used to buy an xbox one scorpio"

At that... I would then look around to see where I could trade in said console to get as much of the wad back that I could. Really there just isn't a place under my TV for an xbox which doesn't have 360 after it's name :) Don Told me they had the system for me back at the X1 reveal and I still have found no reason to change from it.

Only one game ? Madness.

I can think of a few games that would qualify here. Of course none of them would ever be a Scorpio exclusive.

Technically no games will be Scorpio exclusive if I'm understanding the idea correctly? Games might run like utter shit on the original X1 unit, but they'll all "run".

Nice! Take a free shot at Xbox thread

And lol, graphics don't matter now. Shocked.

OT: Year 1 maybe.

i have no interest @ XboxOne 2.0/Scorpio. No chance.

And the PS4 has this/next year the biggest games from japan & the west. The new graphic-kings are "God of War", "The Last of Us 2" or "Death Stranding" in future, that is sure. For this reasons: The Scorpio has no meaning for me. Maybe a true next Xbox 2019 (new Generation, "Xbox Ultimate") :)

Thread's about Xbox, still amnages to advertise for PS, lmao.

lol I know it's a gaming forum and thus incredibly biased towards people with niche gaming habits, but let's face facts. Games matter, not exclusives. Every GTA or CoD is more important than any exclusive. That has been proven time and time again. GTA, CoD, BF and FIFA (among many others) are bigger system sellers than Horizon, Forza or Dawn of War III. Unless the exclusive is a mega franchise like Halo, Gran Turismo or Mario Kart.
When consumers can play those multi plat games with far improved graphics at a price that can challenge a decent PC rig, then consumers will buy it.

This. Multiplats matter more than exclusives, but don't let the forum dwellers know that.

All Steam games playable. (Not happening obviously).

Sure graphics do matter. That's why I have a gaming PC and Scorpio wouldn't be an upgrade in this department, so I buy all multiplats on the PC. Since that's out of the way, the only thing that's left are exclusives. Hence currently - Ninty > Sony > MS.

Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.

Cannot wait for the scorpio not selling at switch rate threads.
