You heard it here first folks. Windows Central popped up on my half Filipina/Brit honey's stream on Mixer aka Beam. So I just threw it out there and got the admission of defeat. R.I.P. Windows Phone..

I'll take UWP apps and the Windows ecosystem over Apple and Google every day. Give me the ability to play the UWA version of Gears, Halo, and Forza, on my phone in a few years, and iOS and Android can keep all their garbage.
Satya Nadella already confirmed a Surface Phone is going to haplen, but it will be different than what is on the market today. With Microsofts full effort behind making the future of Windows, scalable via UWA, they should easily be able to have a sustainable phone business that stays in the black, as the cost will be spread company wide.
Windows based phones will almost certainly never reach the levels of the current duoply, but they have a place in the market for people that actually want a quality OS and hardware.
Stop hate, let others live the life they were given. Everyone has their problems, and no one should have to feel ashamed for the way they were born. Be proud of who you are, encourage others to be proud of themselves. Learn, research, absorb everything around you. Nothing is meaningless, a purpose is placed on everything no matter how you perceive it. Discover how to love, and share that love with everything that you encounter. Help make existence a beautiful thing.

Windows Phone is actually a good OS. But it was never going to get the userbase it needed to take the fight to Android or iOS.
It didn't get the same level of support, it didn't get the userbase, it didn't get the apps, there was no "killer app" to make Windows Phone a must-have over the other alternatives.
When something like Pokemon Go takes the world by storm and... Oh. You have a Windows Phone? You miss out. - That's a big issue.
Hopefully with the Surface Phone rebrand, things might get turned around. Competition is a good thing though.
However I have already moved into the Android System after using my old Lumia 920 for a good 4 years, so I probably won't migrate back.

I love my Windows Phone. Perfect and most attractive OS imo. Plus the integration with Xbox and stuff is just perfect.

On-topic: I do believe that if Windows 10 S becomes a success, that could lead to Windows 10 Mobile making a sort of counter-offensive. Given UWP, it wouldn't surprise me if we can play XBone games on a Windows Phone in maybe five years' time...

I have a windows phone and they stopped supporting some of my nessesary apps like for doing my bank stuff and some others so I am going to purchase a android device soon but the lumia 640 was loved up untill the beginning of this year.
Have to agree with above statements, windows phone has a lot of potential that has never been used, which is sad.
