By polarized scoring I mean will we see wildly differing scores for this game? It seems like some games simply elicit vastly different opinions from people and this game might end of being one of them. One thing in Mario Kart Wii's favor though is Edge Magazine is known to be hard on games in their reviews.
I'm really not shocked at the score, there is nothing wildly different or vastly improved then previous games.
6/10 isn't too good.

I am getting this game only because I don't own the GC one. Doesn't look much changed that could be a reason for the low score.

I looked at some of their other scores out of curiosity:
Super Mario Galaxy 10
Super Smash Bros. Brawl 9
Twilight Princess 9
Resident Evil 4: Will Edition 9
No More Heroes 9
Zack & Wiki 8
Mercury Meltdown Revolution 8
Warioware: Smooth Moves 8
Every other Wii game reviewed by them got below an 8. Their other very controversial score (for a Wii game) would be Metroid Prime 3 which got a 7.
